As much as you can. Almost impossible to get it all. But also make sure the mastic is "overflowing" when you reassemble so there is a 0% chance of leaks.

http://www.soundtransit.org/About-Sound-Transit/our-taxing-district Check out the address locator to the right of the page.

Andrew was recommending a shop he used for his Jeep in SODO somewhere, but couldn't remember the name of the place. He said their big business was truck stuff.

They have a few shops. Everett, Seattle, etc.. I'll look them up thanks!

Ah okay. I'd rather stay up north if I can but if there is a good shop around Seattle I'll go there.

We've always used NW drivelines at our shop and have had great results.

Yeah, if you've got new stuff, clean all of the old out. I am not familiar with Tacoma housings, but on the glass 3rd gen ones it wasn't really necessary. So much in there from the factory that I would just peel it off of the glass, and line the groove with it.

Not needed. Theres enough in there for it to reseal just fine. Just heat it back up a bit first (i rebaked mine for ~5 minutes). Can get 1-2 times before you'd need to worry about adding more. Ive had my non-retro apart twice and the retro once with the factory Butyl and it seals just fine.

Typically this works. But, if he has the new stuff already, may as well use it and be sure it's sealed up.

@bobsuruncle are you already sealing them back up?

There's a shitload of it. I feel once it's warm and plyable again I can smear it all over... I'm going to wait a few days for the paint to cure, and don't have any replacement butyl on hand ATM. I'll see what happens by Saturday.

True. But i have a hell of a lot of better things to do then clean the old crap out just to put new stuff. When Ive taken mine apart there hasnt really been anywhere I'd want to add more since you could tell it would just ooze out anyways. Not sure how the 4runner ones are if they were the same way o rnot

Because I like to buy top of the line, or close to it, when I can? :D

More seriously though. Years ago my daughters were doing dance (the younger one still does) as well as sports like soccer and basketball. We could take pictures during the performances, so I'd shoot a ton for friends too. Sadly, the dance studio she is at now doesn't allow photography or video (because they want to sell it to you now.) I had a D300 before the D3, but it didn't have as fast a frame rate, the higher ISO performance wasn't that good and the focus speed couldn't always keep up. So I moved up to faster glass, and eventually grabbed a used D3 from Glazer's. It was in great shape from their rental fleet, and had about 89,000 clicks on it. The shutter is rated for 300,000, so I wasn't worried about it.

For the majority of the dance and sport shooting, I shoot in Aperture Priority and wide open. The challenge for dance was the constantly changing light conditions, so it was easier to shoot in A. Even with faster glass, I still had to crank the ISO up to 3200 or higher at times to get a fast enough shutter speed to prevent unwanted motion blur. But when I wanted motion blur, I could dial it back.

But I also buy used to try and keep the costs down:
    D3 - used
    50mm f1.8 - new
    17-35 f2.8 - used
    24-70 f2.8 - new
    70-200 f2.8 VRI- used

Starting to get back into shooting a little bit again. My daughters are showing some interest in it, so we've done a few scouting trips. We'll do more when it gets nicer out.
