I have one of the worst colors to debadge and did it after 11 or 12 years.

The only one that has ghost writing is the "SR5" badge behind the rear quarter panel glass.

But you have to be about a foot away looking at it from an angle in sunlight to see it.

    Otherwise you have no clue.

OK, so a month ago I pictured a lug nut I had messed up when doing my front pads.
I was sent a set of proper lugs by Squeaky Penguin.

So I finally went to put them on, and it doesnt look right.

Note the raised wear mark on my "wrong" lug, that is at a point higher than the
bevel on the end of the "correct" lug, indeed the width at that point looks wider than the shank of the "correct" lug.

    side by side.jpg
    none.jpg

Now that doesnt look like much for the "proper" lug to seat on.

    in 1.jpg
I also had to remove the washer that came on each lug. They would float and rattle.
    Here is a better shot.

    in 2.jpg
So I just have the little angled bit seating.
The "wrong" lug has more angled surface to grab
The "right" nut is so tall it looks like the nut cover or whatever that plastic piece is wont seat right.

So I am thinking something is a bit different with my 2003 PreRunner (or at least these rims) here.
Is there supposed to be some recessed material/raised ridge that the washer that was included will seat upon?

The one with the shank should be the correct lug nut, I don't think those conical seat ones are correct

Yes they are. Jack the truck up. take ALL of the lugs off. Then try again.

Sounds correct. The old lug nuts remaining are not allowing the wheel to rotate ever so slightly as needed to allow the shank of the nuts to move past the washer seat on the wheel.

Went to change the rack and pinion bushings today to my surprise first of the bushings came out quite easy
then as i pull the second one out i noticed familiar number etched on the bushing Dang it! that's when i realize the truck already has ES bushings installed:annoyed::annoyed:
I immediately inspect the lower control arm in hopes that it has them in as well but no luck looks like the only place where previous owner put in ES was the steering rack

It was missing the washer though so i didn't feel like it was completely worthless to do it
installed couple other things while the truck was on the ramps

I had my TG bolt on sliders welded on for $50. Used self etching primer & rattle canned matte black paint so I can touch them up anytime. Wasn't interested in drilling 32 holes in my frame either! This weekends project!

Looks good. I would have them weld the bolt holes closed so that water doesn't sit in there. Assuming you ground all the paint off the frame where the feet are, that seems like a recipe for rust.

I've been considering doing this. How long did it take to replace all this?
