Wet Okole with Piping owners please chime in.....

I'm placing my order today from the recent group buy and was set to order with half piping. When doing a search on Wet Okole threads I was reading a post that the piping would tear or rub off. I really like the look of the half piping but scared to order if that's the case. So you owners that have piping what's your experience with it? Would love to hear from people that have had the covers for some time now. Thanks!

 

I've seen the same thing too with the piping showing wear on people who have WOs. When I order my set, I'm not getting any piping done.

 

No problems and do not see any increased wear along the sides as of yet. I have only had mine for about 8 months maybe?

I think it would also depend on how you get in and out of your truck, maybe based on its height from the ground, (lifted) whether you are portly, whether you have a step, etc.

Probably a lot of factors go into the rate of wear, i would think.

 

One last time, anybody with real feedback or know of others that have them (covers with piping)? How did they hold up? Im ordering today and would like to know please....

 

Did your piping line up right on the seat? I seen a picture on TN and saw the piping kind of squiggly, could be user error on not putting them on right. Thanks!

 

I have 1/2 piping and don't have any additional wear or tear on the piping.

 

How long have you had them?

I just tracked down some pics on the internet about the Wet Okole piping that had some wear.

 

Ok, I think I settling with the half piping (LOL). I love the looks with the half piping but was very hesitant beacause of the wear and tears on it. But I just confirmed with Wet Okole that if the piping does get damaged they do repair them for $15. That sold me on the piping and can live without them if they do get damaged while they get repaired.

 

Since the last groupbuy....maybe 6 months.

If mine did that I would drive back to their office and make them fix it in their shop. I'm not too worried about it getting that bad. I think you would have to slide in everytime and not sit down to get it to look that way.

 

Thanks good.....I'd rather have it look good with the piping and have it go out after a few years and get it fixed.

ditto that...doesn't look like WO's.

I've seen a lot of Wet Okoles (and have owned a few sets) and never seen them wear like that. They wear-out more like a wetsuit would, more in the color-fade worn neoprene way, not ragged like the one shown.

 

No, mine is straight and looks great. The piping gives it a nice look (better than pic i have seen of them without) and my piping downs't really stick up much higher than the rest of the material.

Again, hard to tell 'wear-wise' due to not having them very long, but i don't feel myself getting hung up on it when i rotate outward from the seated position to 'dismount'.

 

Those r wet okoles since I own them lol . I got em back in a group buy in 2008. Yes the piping wore on the side since I'm in and out of my truck many many times a day with my job. That's why I skipped gettin the piping this time around on my 2010. I know I can get em fixed but since I'm on the east coast and needed new ones I really had no use for them anymore.
