get a 2nd gen then. more space all around.

On that truck it was easy. Since the whole thing was back halfed they just pushed the axle back and made a custom bed. Bought 6' bed glass bedsides. Done. Better for shock placement too on the lower links.

On an OEM one. You'd have to cut the rear part of the frame off an extended cab and weld it to a double cab frame. Be tricky with the cab mounts too as they are different through the year. Probably just custom rear cab mounts really.

no a LB DBL cab 6 speed would be unique. I don't think there are any out there at all. Didn't come from the factory like that.

it'll be unique..but look stupid. a 2nd gen already is big enough to pull off the long bed.

Bet it would drive awful too. custom drive shaft too.

Granted theses are 8ft beds, but IMHO tundra dcab long beds look awkward. 2nd gen ones look ok.

Here are the bones of it. I messed up and have my tent overhanging the hinged side too much so when I lift it about 1' the side of the tent binds on the curves of the rails. Got a solution in mind so we will see how it goes. Tire will mount behind the tent on a slight pitch and overlap my tailgate to "lock" it.

Nice! Cool solution! I like it. But yea can see what you mean. So then you're putting a tire mount on the bed rack??

Yep. Wanted something different. Here is my concept drawing. I'll use gas shocks to create the lift

Yeah the guys at napa seemed to have a hard time getting me the lift capacity for the ones they had on the shelf. Should be on the label. What a concept, inform the customer of what they are buying. Anyway, I have one that is rated for 194 lbs so I'm going to see if that can handle the 180 and change tent effectively. What rating did you use?

    HOLY FAWK!

dude that is WAY to much haha.

Mine are 80lbs each. Uses two for the side lift and i can BARELY pull it down from the side. I usually just jump up there and stand on it haha

I bought mine through a cool site that had all kinds.

If i were to do it again. Id go for 50lb ones. 100lbs total.

    I got mine from here

    https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/

My issues was extended length as mine are vertical not angled so i had to get ones a certain length and they only came in 80lbs. You'll want much less due to the angle. The leverage will help.

Yeah idk how it will shake down. I'll just swap it for another if it's too much.
