    Often enough? How fast can something go viral due to someone posting about X price on a big box site like Amazon. It takes one of those times and you may lose tens of thousands of dollars in a matter of minutes. Thats why they dont honor that pricing and void orders at that point and pull it from the site.

    I'm not talking about Amazon. I'm talking about a small buissness that sells front runner racks. Let's say they sold ten before they caught it, that's $1400 not the end of the world. They aren't selling 100 in between when they close and when they open the next morning. I stated what I would do. Didn't say they had to, said what I personally would do. But integrity is different for person to person.

    Thats totally beside the point. The principle of the matter still stands. Whether its $1 or $1000 one time or 1000 times/orders, the business has the right to give you the option of paying the correct price or voiding the order. I dont see why you would blow their shit up on social media because they wanted to uphold their business' integrity and not cut themselves short. Whether that be Amazon or a small ecommerce page that sells these racks. Its not about going under specifically. Its about protecting your business and choosing to do business with customers at their own will. If you dont like that they wont honor that mistake price, go somewhere else. That doesnt make them a bad company or have shitty customer relations.

    Not at all besides the point. Dragging Amazon into this is besides the point. When your a small buissness you don't have the buying power or reach of a big buissness. What you have is customer service and word of mouth. I'm not saying any of them should HAVE to do anything. That's their choice just as it's the buyers choice to talk about his experience. It's their decision to decide if $140 or 1 trillion dollars is work the risk of someone expressing their dissatisfaction. You can handle it like a multi billion dollar retail powerhouse, or you can treat the customer had you want to be treated if someone disappointed you as their customer. I personally wouldn't blow someone's shit up. Would I shop their again, who knows.

    I almost got bait and switched on a Smittybuilt RTT, listed wrong price, but then said they'd give me a huge discount, did a little research, they were doing the scam for months. Homie don't play that.

    So then I went to Toyota Palo Alto and got bait a switched on a over priced 13' SR and bought my 16', :frusty:

    Sorry yeah that was someone else. Regardless, I dont see what the big deal is. As a consumer myself, I wouldnt be upset if they told me the price was incorrect and I could either pay the difference and they give me a discount or void my order. Cool, ok, I'll go somewhere else that sells them. Big whoop. :boink:

    Edit: this is under the assumption the mistake was genuine and not a bait and switch

    I brought up he airline thing.

    Its one thing to give an estimate before exchanging any money and the price be more due to overtime/repairs/material costs like in renovating a home.

    but to take someones' money then demand more later on is bad business. Its like someone chasing you down after you checked out and left the store because they want a couple more cents for the gallon of milk you just.

    Ive learned in business, that sometimes its better to make friends first and money second. Usually when you go the extra mile the first time and you stand behind your prices, you will get repeat service from the later on.
