The continued war in Afghanistan is fueling all this extra opium production. It's the Taliban's way of continuing their war on the decadent and ungodly west. They're producing more than ever and using that money to continue to fight us. We're funding our enemies.

Ultimately one of the most fucked-up things ever.

 

I hear ya, unfortunately some kids prefer to rebel, no matter how much you talk with them. Wish that's all it took to get a good outcome.

I believe some people are not going to turn out good no matter the effort. I've known quite a few that they would choose trouble every time. Big disappointments to their poor heartbroken parents.

America is the largest consumer of drugs. An insatiable appetite that keeps the dealers busy. National Geographic Channel has a show "Border Patrol" and the amount of drugs they catch is crazy. Drugs and people, but according to the agents they believe they catch maybe 2 or 3%.

Think about that 97-98% is getting into the country.

And the millions of dollars leaving everyday as well as guns and ammo is really scary.

 

I remember reading an Intel report several years ago about the cartels hiring German engineers to build small two man subs, also a couple larger ones, that traveled only six to ten feet below the water, and capable of carrying a ton or more of heroin.

Love to see a cartel raid on one of their cash storage facilities. Imagine seeing BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN HARD COLD CASH.

Unfortunately they pay off officials very very well and the cartels would know days in advance of any such raid in planning stages.

 

True, it can help but on its own not as effective. I turned over my friends list a lot when I cleaned up

I haven't seen it but have heard so many say they knoew people on the show. Another thing is we have so much opiod prescription now that wasn't the case in years past, this is worse even than crack was in my eyes.

 

I've had a bank mix up my account with someone else's. Luckily they were able to fix it somewhat quickly.

 

This is exactly one of the causes in the uptick. You get hooked on some codine for anow injury, like it too much. Your serotonin wants more but your prescription runs out. You buy pills illegally but it's expensive as fuck. That first hit of heroin is godly and only cost you 10 bucks for everything to go away. Cue the the description in the video.

 

Exactly..or at least short term it is easy to get pills prescribed. I work in the healthcare field in MA and recently there's been many restrictions put on opioid prescribing. Sucks for those who need it big time but it really is that drastic.

I was the worst drunk you'd meet in my 20's but never took anything stronger than aspirin or ibuprofen ever. I damn sure won't now..my back went out a few years ago and my doctor mentioned Vicodin. I started shaking like a leaf..scared him. I then told him I'd been recovering for a while and don't want to risk it.

 

A lot of people do start on prescribed pain pills. The HBO special on heroin, one of the guys started that way, but the part I didn't understand was all of them said it was the BEST feeling.

The heroin and/or the prescribed pain meds. I don't get it, must be something some or maybe most people have, that it's like the best feeling they've ever had.

I was given pain meds and it was Aweful. I felt like crap and stopped taking them just a couple days in and dealt with the pain without any meds. It made me feel sick.

So from my own experience I guess I'm one of those that doesn't get a high from opioids. I hated the way it made me feel.

Luckily I've never needed any pain meds, and I hope I never need to.
