That's not at all what I said. That's your opinion. Don't get offended now buddy. You're the one who failed to correctly read the OPs question. All I did is give my opinion based upon what the OP asked since yes I am happy with my vehicle.

Sucks for you that you're not happy with your truck. ;)

Sure do. Not worried. Ive had a lot worse noises come from vehicles than that itty bitty howl.
Plus I have a 10 year 120,000 mile warranty, and I like my wheels, so Im not planning on changing them anytime soon.

Love my Tacoma DCOR, not even 3 months and I just rolled 16,000km (10,000ish miles) haven't noticed any rear howling noise but I also like my music on the louder side. That being said, when I'm not listing to music quite so loud I haven't noticed anything out the ordinary. I also have had none of the issues that are discussed on here. the transmission does hunt for gears, but it's 100x better then the 90' T4R V6 4speed (it would forget it's a 4speed and would usually stay in 3rd even at 120km/h) I was driving before so maybe it just doesn't bother me as much. I also own an Acura RSX Type S and have owned a couple other Honda's that are very rev happy so for me it's completely normal to rev a vehicle out.
In other words very happy, no issues here.

Never said I wasn't happy. I actually really like my truck.

I guess we interpreted the original post/poster differently.

    The op literally asked:
But, I know there are a lot of you out there who really enjoy your trucks are excited about them. How do you feel about the rear diff howl?

I was referring to Ironwood post when I said Nancys. He didn't say it so your correct.

    Anyway I'm over it.

I don't hear it but according to CR you couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitro factory in this truck because the cab is so noisy. So how does anyone hear the howl? ;)

The howl got louder over time for me and is very annoying. I would like toyota to fix this issue ASAP.

Love my Taco ! No howl here as far as I know but I dampened the rear wall and doors and always have music playing. Only whine I get is from the passenger seat at times , easy to fix with a piece of duck tape . Lol

Can you do all of us a favor and open a ticket with corporate?

Whether you give an ish or not, help the rest of us out so they know how widespread the issue is.

It's really the last big issue I have with my truck. The TSB's have fixed my trans, the rumblestrip vibe has sort of been fixed/I dont notice it much anymore after the dampener, my brake pedal pulsating was fixed with a new brake assembly, and the howling LCAs were fixed with a TSB.

this rear howling diff almost makes me want to trade my truck in daily.

I love my truck and I have the howl. I changed diff oil with Amsoil and it is less frequent and quieter. Sometimes I'll turn off the radio and listen for it. Kind of miss it sometimes.

I have a 2016 DCOR LB auto and I love the thing, had it just over a year going on 8000 Miles, 0 complaints. The new 6 speed auto does seem to search for gears a bit, but it's a 6 speed automatic... it's going to shift. I also have a first generation 5 speed, the 3rd Gen does seem to need to rev a little higher to hit that ideal power band but nothing I'm worried about, Toyota know how to build anew engine capable of revving and lasting forever. Oh and about the consumer reports, they rate everything above average, it's the consumer reliability that is low, I've never seen anything that makes me think the reliability is an issue, it's probably just consumers complaining about the crap people do here.
