Ok so I thought that this might be a cool way to share about Paleo. Different meals, recipes, and what not. So heres a link to the paleo basics, its the simplest version I could find, for those who dont know what it is. So here we go. Lets see how we can take this. http://desertcrossfit.typepad.com/Paleo_Food_List.pdf

    Pre workout:
2 scoops Dymatize elite whey protein (ya i know its not true paleo but i needed it this morning.)

    Post workout:
4 egg whites, grilled chicken breast, apple and water

Have you seen the paleo packs? People at the hospital I work at do this and they have funky treats all the time.

Not sure what a paleo pack is, but I know a lot of people pack themselves little snacks that are approved by the paleo diet.

just curious to see if anyone out here is still following paleo? i know that its hard but the results are definitely worth it. i've only lost a total of 5 pounds on the scale. but can really see how the bodyfat has almost melted off. everyone that sees me keeps saying that i just look leaner and healthier. i don't even follow a super strict version. i had to mix in a small amount of carbs in order to keep my energy levels up throughout the day.

i've also found out several different meals that are easy to cook and still have plenty of flavor. let me know how you guys are doing

Unless someone is cooking my pre-planned paleo meals, I dont have the time (aka: patience) to figure out ahead of time what to make :) Personally, I do the best I can to just avoid saturated fats and cholesterol.

thats the thing with paleo or any other diet for that matter. you really have to plan everything out.take snacks..precook your meals..theres alot of work involved in order to do it properly. but its worth it.

So i decided to try and revive this thread. Paleo is awesome. I know that its a pain to follow at times but its well worth it. There have been several new articles in various workout magazines about the benefits of a paleo diet. One little thing that I have done to help make eating like this easier is to include carbs maybe once a day. When i say carbs i mean from a source that is not a fruit or vegetable. Like rice, potato, or something along those lines. But when I do eat the carbs, I still try to follow the "zone" rule of thumb. Which is to not eat more carbs than the amount of lean meat on the plate. Another thing is to go shopping on sundays, sticking to the perimeter of the store, and then cooking a few meals that day. It takes some time but you get to eat clean and healthy for the next few days. It really helps. Hope other guys are out there still going strong. If your not try it out. its worth it.

I dont really follow a cooking schedule or anything crazy. I am not a chef and I make some pretty bland meals but it gets me through the day and makes me happy. Maybe this will make me more diverse in my healthy eating? I am really easy to please when it comes to food. I dont need lots of spices or any of that stuff to make me a happy camper. Ill have to check it out. Ive been doing a lot of lifting lately. Trying to bulk up. Would this keep me on track as far as not eating junk food?

Only you are going to be able to keep yourself on track and not eat junk food. After awhile though, you do find certain foods that will satisfy your sweet tooth. It just takes time and some trying of different foods that follow the "guidelines"

    LOL it's the original diet.

My wife and I have been doing this for about a month now. It's pretty sweet. We aren't doing it for a "lose weight" type diet, but more for the health benefits. And as thin as my wife and I are, we've ended up losing a little weight anyhow. We're much leaner, lost belly fat, and our bodies just feel much better.

It is very time consuming. I did it for a while. I would prepare my meals for every week on Sundays and vacuum seal them so I could grab stuff throw it in a cooler and go.
