Sucks but not uncommon. 2 weeks after my wife getting a new 2014 RAV, someone keyed a line down the entire driver's side. Unfortunately there are assholes everywhere.

It's aggravating for the first scratch to be intentional but it's inevitable.

    I feel your pain bro.

My truck was randomly keyed like yours a few weeks ago..... $1200 to respray.

No one ever keyed the beaters I drove for the last 15 years.....but as soon as I buy something nice for myself....

Damn 1200 is a lot. Well they gonna charge me 800. Thankfully I have to pay only 500. The rest the insurance is going to pay for.

Yes I had to paint the whole thing. I probably will post pictures of the final result once they give my truck back.

My guess is $2,500 in total repairs. Each panel needed to be repainted. (Let me know how close I am lol)

Although when they do it PLEASE don't have them replace the pin stripping. Rip that shit off. It was as bad as the scratch! ;)

Hahaha I guess that's just to some people's taste. I have my 98 Corolla built as a 2002 and those stripes are there. Is kind of the same color of my Tacoma.

I probably will paint the Corolla the exact same color as my Tacoma once I finish equipping everything I want to my Tacoma.

Those stripes just gives a not complex detail. I love them.

I don't even care anymore. I'll pay what I have to pay and I'm going to call it a day. I learned to check my car/truck all around before I even drive away from any place.

    **UPDATE**
I went to grab my truck like 2 days ago and notice that the bodyshop scratched my bumper. Also, they didn't removed the tiny metal fragments left over after drilling out the rivets for the fuel intake cover. I notice it was glued on the surface of the paint inside the cabity for the fuel intake (really unprofessional if you ask me). So I left it there and still waiting on them. Lets see how it looks the next time.

However, the paint job for the original scratch was spotless. It looks just like it did before. If it wasn't for the bumper and the tiny metal fragments I'll recomend this body shop. They handle the situation as expected. They took full responsability for the faults and they going to fix it so that's good from them.

The bodyshop's name is Rick Hendrick Collision Center and is sponsored by Geico.

Glad to hear that they were able to do a great job on fixing your scratch! That does suck that the scratched your bumper and were messy, however as a small (very small) business owner, I can understand when things like that happen, it's sometimes impossible to get your employees to pay attention to detail enough to do a PERFECT, spotless, job. But if they took responsibility, it sounds like they are a stand up shop and will get you taken care of. Congrats man.

Trust me, I know the pain myself. I'm supervisor in my job and manager of one of the biggest programs and always have problems with people not following steps the right way. Always trying to do shortcuts which leads to small things like that bumper scratch.

However it only takes one little thing to take the trust away, specially if you don't go to them often (first time in my case). I give them credit for taking full responsibility but now lets see how well they fix what they messed up. Hopefully I have no more problems with them when I pick it up. I'm take my time inspecting it now that I had problems before. Lets see.

I guess I have high standards but that's to be expected if there's money involved.

But back to your reply, yes, I understand that the lack of attention to details in some of the employees can lead to small issues.
