Maybe it is just the fact that I drove my 01 for the last 9 years trouble free, or the fact that I just don't like change, but I think I miss my old truck more than I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, I really like my 10, but seeing my old truck on the lot for sale almost brings a tear to my eye. I hope her new owner will treat her as good as she has treated me. Let's hope the new one is as good as the old one. The double cab is a welcome change over the old extended cab. The ride is superior, and it seems to have quite a bit more power. All in all, I know it was time to let her go. Any others feel as sentimental about their old ride?

^^^ X4. If they had not bought my 2000 because of frame rust, I would still be driving it. :(
I only had 170K miles on it. But......as with you, I love my 2010....with more room and just a little more comfort.:)

Yup!!! Sure do miss the old 96......
These are just a sprinkling of all the pictures I took of it.

    http://www.lieblweb.com/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=12

I still see it around town. Poor thing....I sold it 6 years ago and it looks exactly the same with all the offroad stickers, lift, etc. Looks like they never ever washed it and the red paint is fading BAD.

I love having a new truck, more room, and with less maintenance and worry free... I'm getting older now and just aren't as nimble to take care of an older truck. I just cross my fingers and hope this truck lasts that long!!

Had a 89 SR5 red extended cab 3.0 V6 with silver striping. Two occasions that stick out. One was a similarly equipped Nissan pulling up next to me at a red light and reving his moter, the light turning green both sets of tires smoking, getting simultaneous scratches as we both shifted from first to second, and me sticking my hand out the window to "wave" good bye.

The second was when a friend called me at 3:AM to come and get him and his Ram Charger, broke down on I-30. Kind of looked funny my Toyota pulling a Ram Charger down interstate. But that truck never missed a beat. Had to look in the rearview to make sure he was still there. I do miss that truck.

I had a 98 4Runner I do miss that thing. Even though it was a rough ride and underpowered, it really grew on me. I dont regret getting the Taco but wish I could have kept the 4Runner.

^^^ Wow, you did that with the 3.slow? I had two of those bad boys and they wouldnt get out of their own way. I kicked myself for not finding one with the 22RE (the 2nd time, the first one I had no clue what I was doing).

That being said, they were still solid trucks and I miss having them around. I dont know about everyone else but I like the simplicity of the older generation trucks, no throttle by wire crap (Nissan has it too), air bags, traction control, etc...

Let's see...I had an '87 single cab, an '93 xtra cab, a '97 T100 xtra cab, a 2000 access cab tundra, a '95 4Runner, and an '02 DCab. I miss them just because I liked them each alot for different reasons, except they all had the same reliability in common. The '93 had the crappy 3.0 in it, but I still see it around town. The '02 was super nice ~ bought it from a Toy head in CO that had custom rear springs, lift, sliders, supercharger, catback exhaust...that rig was fun. Now I see it around town and its beat to crap....BUT, I love my '06 (oh yeah, also had an '05 for a year or so) for the room, more power, great look, and comfort. No regrets here.

I had a '94 pickup with the 22RE motor, and I loved the thing. It was great for driving around town. I bought it with around 140k miles, and I put a good 20k on it with no problems. When I sold it, it still ran like a champ. I kind of wish I still had it.

Ben, thanks and I did note the jealousy. I only wish that I had all the rest of the trucks that I had. The list is long (13 and counting) but I think the one that I miss the most is a 90 short cab/short bed 4x4 with the 22RE. That was my most favorite one.
