A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
First, get the dust shield out of the way using a screwdriver. Pry it in toward the diff. Then get a wedge, like a cold chisel to stick in between one side of the CV. Then with a pry bar on the opposite side, start prying away. You will have to use some force, but not a substantial amount. If you find yourself using too much force, turn the CV 45* and wiggle it in and out. What's happening is the c clip may be in a position where it is keeping the CV in better. If the ends of the C clip are facing up, it will be hardest to remove or install. With the ends of the C clip facing down, it will be easiest to remove and install.

Thanks. So it goes in easier than removal?

Both are easy really. Removal only takes two hands, installation you really need a third hand. For installation, make sure that the ends of the C Clip are facing down. Make sure that the dust seal is back in place before inserting the CV in to the Diff. Lube the shaft of the CV and everything it slide in to with the gear oil you're using to fill the diff with. Get a block of wood and a big hammer to drive the CV in. The wood protects the CV from damage from the hammer blows. Try and get the CV as strait as possible, this is where that third hand is helpful, and drive the CV in. With enough force, the C clip will compress and slip past the splines. Once this happens, just push the CV in all the way and you'll maybe hear a click from the C Clip snapping in to the groove. If the CV can be pushed in all the way, you are successful.

You are the man! I'm dreading it, but the vibe is getting obnoxious on these cold mornings.

Another for the list... bought my taco a few months ago and been reading/modding ever since. I did a lift/level kit and drove it a little bit over the weekend after the lift install, I thought the vibes I was getting was due tobad alignment and cupping of the tires. After the alignment and rotation I expected it to go away as the tires corrected... no such luck, then I came across this thread. Yesterday I clicked into 4wd and my truck went completely silent! My vibes are at all temps, it starts off mild from 5mph and gets more prominent upto 50mph, then goes away.

Thanks TW for such a great site! And thanks ECGS for finding a viable solution, also thanks to everyone that shed light on the situation enough for attention.

Adding this to the list, I will be doing it soon.

I did the job today with ECGS bushing and seal. Worst part is cv shaft removal. Then had to try a few times to get the removal tool to click in behind needle bearing. Once it did removal was a breeze. Also had a little trouble getting the new bushing to line up straight going in. Got it on about the third attempt. Had a buddy tap end of cv axle with nut on while I held straight. Popped right in on second tap. Thanks to all who pass on the removal and install tools. I am ready to mail unchained5150's tools on to next person. I think someone from WI was next so send me a pm. Thanks to all for the great tips and ECGS for a great fix. No more 35mph rumble strip feeling.

    .
Any body got the removal/install tools they would be willing to let a man borrow. I had my needle bearing replaced under warrenty last year and the vibe is finally coming back. I have the ecgs bushing because i figured this would happen. Sure does tick me off. Im tired of these vibes. Bet i never lift another taco. Way to sensitive. Im getting to old to fight with my truck just for a little more ground clearance and sexy stance.

Received my bushing today, fast ship from ECGS. I'm scheduled for my shop to install Monday, April 3. I can't wait.

He didn't quote a total. I think he said $70 an hour. They look like good guys so I'm sure they will be fair.

Getting my ecgs bushing installed today. Will let everyone know how it goes. The shop that put my lift on is doing the repair at no charge so I am going to let them keep the removal and install tools for any future customers.

Wow, nice deal. If it works as well as it did on my truck, I think you'll be really happy.

Anyone in the Portland PNW area that has the removal tool? I'll buy or rent it from you. I just need to get it soon for a trip to Moab next week.
