General Grabber AT/2

Thinking about getting a set of 265/70r16 General Grabber A/T 2's for my 2005 Taco. Stock suspension and all. I'd like to hear from people who have owned these tires, what do you guys think?
Secondly, I don't think I've got the TPMS on my truck (I've never seen an indicator light for it at least) does that make a difference when purchasing the tire? I'm just wondering as all the tire websites are asking me.

It doesn't make a difference when purchasing the tire.

I bought a set of these a couple of months ago and I've liked them a lot. I have stock suspension, too, and have had no problems so far. You'll like these tires.

So I was thinking about buying a set of duratracs and a guy at work mentioned he wants general grabbers. With more research I think these may be what I need after all. They don't show up on tirerack though.

I'm considering going from a 265-70-16 BFG Rugged Trail (OEM tire) to a 265-75-16 AT2. Have any of you made that size change? If so, did it impact your MPG much?

Is 565 otd w/o installation a good price?

 

There is a 13lb increase per tire going from the 265/70 to the 265/75. Seems like it is a lot. Anyone have MPG info or other comments?

 

Loss of 1.5-2.0 mpg is what I see.

I'm gonna go with the stock size then.

 

Had my 265/70/16's installed today. They ride great so far. Smooth and seem more quiet than the worn down stockers I had on before. They do rub though when turning all the way to the stops and going through a dip at the same time which is how my parking spot is.
So far so good and am very happy with them.

 

Appreciate any updates you could provide as you use the tires. I'll be looking for new ones in a month or so and I can't decide between the Grabber A/T's and the BFG T/A KO's. Thanks!

 

So far other than sporadic rubbing I like the Grabbers better than the stock BFGs. Really thinking about getting the billy 5100s now.

 

I've had my General Grabbers for 3000 miles and love them. Not that it matters to most of you, but they were great in the snow. They show zero signs of wear thus far. Mine were $150 each out the door.

 

Just a suggestion if you're worried about MPG. I picked up Hankook ATs at 265 70 17 (I have a Sport, so that's a plus one size). They aren't much heavier than stock (a pound or 2 per tire at most) and look good. I also got 5100s for the front set at 1.75". I may have lost 1 mpg, but haven't noticed any change. Could have just been driving habits. Just my 2 cents

 

Nice tires. Considering this as my replacement for my stock tires. Looks pretty tight at the back of the wheel. I see you have removed the mud flaps. Is this due to rubbing issues or is it just your preference for looks?

Those are sick man! I'm looking in to getting these tires. I have stock suspension as well, how bad is the rubbing?
