Ok, this is to all the canadians out there. I would like to know what kind of mileage your getting with your tacos and how your figuring it out because i was checking my mileage from a trip this weekend and realized that their is a US gallon and a canadian gallon and its a significant difference between the two. When i convert my litres to US gallons i was ending up with 17.6 MPG and when i use the canadian gallon i end up with 20.8 MPG. So I just want to know if im figuring my mileage out the same as everyone else so that i can compare.

I've only had my 2009 2.7 li Access cab since 16 July (1200 km) so my numbers are still very tentative but it looks like I'm getting 9li/100 km on the highway.

Here's an example for determining MPGs:

    CDN gallon = 4.546 litres
    US gallon = 3.78 litres

    550 KM = 343 miles
approx 75 litres = 16.50 CDN gallons, or 19.84 US gallons
343 miles/16.50 gallons = 20.78 miles per CDN gallon or 17.28 miles per US gallon.

    I avg between 18-21 miles/CDN gallon.

    Lear cap.
V6 double cab, manual, with cap: 12.686 l/100km, or 21.8 mpg.
Range to light about 500 km, which seems to leave about 100km to spare.

For me, fuel economy is about the same mixed or highway, because I tend to go 120 km/hr or so on the highway.

I *thought* cap would reduce economy due to weight, but it seemed to have ne effect: maybe the penalty of weight is offset by improved aerodynamics (?)

having ocd requires me to figure out the mileage to the nearest point. first to use the same pump and at the same time of day and to fill the tank until completely full.
then simple math - kilometers divided by liters then times resultant by 2.83 for the
m.p.g. canadian. to this point, if driving like a lady i get 22 m.p.g. when above 0 degrees ambient temp. p.s. my 08 tundra with cold air kit has gotten to date 22 m.p.g. hoo hoo

Mine is a new (US version) 4.0L with the sport TRD quad, 4x4 model with auto. I have gotten as high as 25MPG on mine. Now that was at 55-60 MPH. Get your foot into it and it will drop. I constantly get around 22-23 MPG hwy. though. Just to let you know!

    Great all around truck! :canada:
