Fuq that noise! I'm definitely ready for summer!

Women wear less, beer tastes better, and I'm much more willing to get out and kayak and wheel!

    This here!

I swamped my truck pretty good and collected a lot of mud underneath (see avatar pic). It got striped pretty good too from trees and brier bushes. Needs a good scrub and wax!
But it was SO worth it all! Had a blast and can't wait to do it again

We hit the 120's here. There will be a solid month, if not more, where the temps will not drop below 90 degrees. Go outside at 4am and it's 92.

    It's miserable.

Our winter, if you call it that, is 60-70's for the highs. Perfect weather for outdoor activities. We don't get snow and it doesn't rain very often.

@dirty deeds - That looks awesome! I was just shared a link this morning for a group of peeps around here planning a weekend camping/off-roading trip that sounds pretty awesome. Apparently something like 16 people are going? I've never actually gone legit off-roading, so that sounds amazingly awesome and terrifying all at the same time. haha

@Aw9d - That sounds atrocious. No thanks!

I'm happy with our 40-50. We hit 65 the other day, that was quite pleasant! During the summers, we are typically in the 70-90's and have a week or two of >100 where everyone is dying. haha I'm ready for it to dry up a bit though!

I have osteoarthritis so it's one of the main reasons I still live here in the warm climate. I wouldn't mind the cold weather since I've always lived in hot weather. But it's harder to live in cold weather. I always tell my friend in NY:

    • I don't have to shovel heat off my car before I go to work.
    • Our streets don't get salt put all over them to help stop the heat.
    • Never drifted out of control due to hot roads.
    • There is no such thing as 'black heat' (I'm referring to black ice)
    • I've never been 'heated in' and can't leave my house even if I wanted too. (got snowed in at my grandparents house once and we couldn't even walk out the front door).
But it is balls fucking hot here for 2-3 months. Neighbors pool got up to 93 degrees which made it useless to swim in. I've had my kick stand on my motorcycle melt into the tarmac on the freeway (got pulled over in August at 2pm when it was 118 outside). I had to have the cop come back out and help me pull the bikes kickstand out of the melted tarmac.

We have had to close the airport because the tarmac was too hot to land and tires were exploding on pales. Happens one day out of the year typically.

When it boils down to it people during the summer here just run from the house to the car running AC. Then when they get to their location they run from the car into a building that has AC. Not much different then extreme cold where you run from your heated house to your heated car then back into another heated building. You can go out and play outside in 118 degree weather. Just stay super hydrated. You can go outside and play in -15 degree weather. Just bundle up and stay super warm. It's a choice of which shitty environment would you prefer, cold or hot?

The guys here usually carry something for the kickstand so it doesn't sink in the pavement.

It typically doesn't go past 100° here, but gets very humid. Sucks when you're not even in the sun, and you're sweating while doing nothing.

It was my first in a true 4x4 vehicle. I've done a good bit of jackass business in 2wd trucks before.
Go! You'll be nervous the first couple hours, but it'll pass.

I've been living like a retired person lately. I have been hardly working and can only do leisure activities. It's been a couple weeks and I can't tell weekdays from weekends.

Yeah I used to carry a small plastic square in the back seat after that happened. Just never thought about it until it did happen. At least it's not humid here, that's always a good thing.
