What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

i work for a wireless internet service provider (WISP) based in Ventura, the batteries are for a solar site we're deploying up north and the spools of cable are gel-filled CAT5e. i got the Sumo Springs because of work, i do a lot of hauling and material getting. a lot of batteries, i've hauled a pallet of batteries before with very minimal sag. it's definitely true when they say the springs push back with the more weight you put on them. i think they work fantastic. so did my boss, we outfitted our two infrastructure trucks (2017 Tacomas) with the Sumos as well.

 

that's taking the accent panel and upping it to awesome. I might want to just borrow this idea

 

....pulled off the rear bumper so I can paint the end caps this weekend or next week. Both license plate light holders were the only casualties. I knew I had to take them off eventually, but didnt realise they were going to shatter in a million pieces when i pulled the center portion. Not one damn bolt holding any of that on!

 

They are the AR Mojave II wheels. I actually bought these on a budget as a place holder. I love my KO2 tires, but the plan was to swap the wheels eventually for some Stealth Custom Series F5 wheels... But.. I really like how these turned out and I think i'm going to stick with them for a while.

 

I had mine line-x'd to match my front grill. Looks great and is holding up great.

 

Nice. I got some quicksand paint from automotivetouchup.com, so i'm going to give that a whirl.

I have my stock bumper (w/ tow receiver) sitting in my garage, but don't have anything to weigh it with. (Anyone know what the hell to do with an unneeded stock bumper?!?)

Yeah, if you can, might as well have the rails (not the rack) installed at the factory. Otherwise, you'll need to drill, though it shouldn't be too difficult if you know how to measure twice, cut once.

 

Cool, any chance you could give a vague weight estimate? To the nearest 20 lbs. I'm just trying to see the net weight I'll be carrying.

I just weighed the stock rear bumper (don't ask me how!). 72 lbs, including the tow receiver. Hope that helps!

so is it a definite must the center plastic bumper comes off?

 

I picked up my 4Runner trail edition wheels from the powder coaters today. Going to mount them tomorrow.

 

I sold my stock OR bumper w/tow for $620 on eBay and then shipped it via Graeyhound bus in two uhaul woredrobe boxes put end to end full of packing peanuts and a small rectangle of thin plywood in the center for the hitch to rest on for $140 on his dime.

 

RG11 and Power Supply batteries? That will level off or tail drag a Bro lean.
