Need advice on more lift.

Alright first off, good to be posting here again. I've been busy with other things here and there.

So as spring/summer comes so does another season of abuse on my MT tires. I'm currently running 285/75R-16's (33's) and I have the toytec ultimate lift installed. My coilovers are cranked pretty high and I also lifted the back another 1'' with some custom made shackles. So as it stands I have the coilovers in the front and a aal in the rear with custom shackles.

Here is my dilemma. When these tires wear out (probably by the end of the summer) I want to go with 35's. my 33's currently rub a little on full turn in the front so I know I will need to go at least 2 - 2.5 inches higher all around. My main concern is lifting the front, and this is what I need your guys advice on.

Rule out drop bracket kits. I don't want to spend the money or sacrifice the clearance I have. I don't want to (and don't even know if it's possible to) put in coil spacers in my coilovers. So i guess this leaves me with top plate spacers or a body lift, neither of which is something I'm to thrilled on. I've always been a wary on body lifts. 1'' to me is OK, but with the kind of clearance I would need, that wouldn't do. I've also read the horror stories on top plate spacers and know they are hard on components. That being said, I also know a guy here in town that has a 04 tacoma with 35's and at least 3'' top plate spacers and he runs his truck extremely hard with no troubles (that i know of haha).

So to sum it all up I need some advice on how to lift the front more. top plate spacers, body lift all around, or something else you can think of? I'd love to do a SAS but thats another project for years from now.

Before I get to much heat, no I don't need 35's. I want 35's . I understand the added stress they put on the truck and so on. I want (and dare to say NEED) more clearance under the axles. I don't do any rock crawling with my truck but I definitely don't take it easy in the trails, mud, and snow.

Make sure you take in to consideration the cost of a regear for 35's if you haven't already. Other than that not sure which is better (top plate spacer or body lift). I know with a big body lift you'll have to extend a few things.. Most people on here will say both are no good but if you really want to "it's your truck" as they say...

 

might just be easier to buy a 6'' lift kit from fabtech

 

I do plan on looking at the price of a true 35" tire on a 15" wheel. Usually 16" are about $50 more a tire than 15's.

Works for some people, not my thing. About $2500 Cad last I checked and I run with a lot of people who have them and the cross member really takes away from clearance. Not to mention they don't hold up very well to abuse from what i've seen.

My two cents would be to throw the body lift on all the way around. Pretty inexpensive, and pretty easy to install.

We only sell a 1 inch kit, but you might want the two inch kit. That's what I went with when I had a 98 Reg cab (3" suspension, 2" body)

 

Do you know of a company that has a 2"? I looked at the 1" on your site but all the others i can seem to find are 3".

 

no its not my thing either, i have no desire for a 6'' lift. it may be easier to go with a bodylift for sure. Hey where in NB are you?
