CB Antenna Mount Bracket

Looks a lot better with the 2foot antenna.

 

You notice any performance difference between the 2' and 3' antennas? I'm trying to decide between a more convenient short one or a long one for best performance.

 

Just used the 2 foot on the trail, seemed to have 1/4 mile range... Haven't used the 3 foot but I'm assuming it would be a little better in range.

 

I am running this exact setup. Where did you ground your antenna?

 

Here's one I made, real easy to do.

 

I followed @90yota design and built the same bracket just without the additional hole for a light. I have a softopper too so had to move it off my bed rails and behind the tail gate plus I have ditch lights up front so I was limited on locations.

 

Im looking for mounting Ideas now. I have a huge firestick and if I mount it on my roof rack its so damn tall... haha Im leaning towards a tailgate mount

Made a custom mount for myself since it didn't exist. (Thanks @64Wildcat for the inspiration)

My antenna folds down under my tonneau when not in use.


Now I just have to figure out how to run the wire through the cabin out to the bed...

Dang, wish the Relentless mount for 3rd gen didn't stick up to high. Would be perfect if it was less visible when the antenna is removed.

 

Update: I ended up mounting the fuse box with screws, the mounting tape lasted about a month then melted off. Gave me just enough time to decide that's where the fuse box should live permanently.

 

I like your idea, fold it when not in use and out of the way. If I do a cb mount I prefer it to be in the bed, maybe more forward towards the cab

 

did you find out if there was a difference between the 2 and 3 foot firestik? @ doahaus

 

No, but I'm still reading and searching. The longer the antenna one would think that you would get a longer range

 

I went from a 4' to a 3' due to it hitting every parking garage I would enter. I do not see much of a difference in reception or transmission. But I would guess that going down to 2' would significantly decrease performance.

I also have a full length whip antenna and nothing beats that. I plan to use it next time I go out for a few days. It's just to burdensome to have in my daily driver.
