How much are you towing?

Shrug. Once you've got it up to speed on a flat interstate it shouldn't be that bad. But if you were doing start-stop or hill country, then it'd be pretty lousy.

Probably an exaggeration, but a 20 gallon tank is too small when towing a trailer. Figure you'll get 8-10 MPG x 20 gallons = 200 miles if you're lucky.

 

And that's if you go from full to fumes, too. When I'd tow with my Tacoma I was usually good for 150 miles or so.

 

Exactly. Now with a 36 gallon tank, I can drag the camper 300 miles with room to spare. Usually, our family road trips are inside of that range because that's about the limit of my 2 boys.

 

The center of the bumper was bowed up after the impact. It was in pretty good shape, but definitely not reusable.

As far as the poles, I avoid them when I drive. I can't speak for people who fail to yield right of way, hit me and send me into them.

Wish I still had that truck...

Fortunately it wasn't up very high as I had turned it down upon arriving at the school. I conveniently turned it off to ask him something before he could hear any good words

A buddy of mine worked at a garage and told me of a guy who had about $1500 of work done..picked up his car, left, walked back 20 minutes later saying it died out. Not to mention it was raining. My buddy and his coworker leave with the tow truck while the guy is still steaming at the shop. They drive it back and tell the customer "fill her up, we just put in a gallon".

The whole shop laughed for 2 minutes, customer included..and every employee from then on was told always check the gas gauge in every vehicle after you finish the job.

My Taurus would peg the needle if you had more than half a tank..then it would work till about a quarter, then drop to zero. I just did a rough estimate of MPG range and filled it up where I knew numbers-wise I was around half full.

 

Unless something changed recently, the OR has the same gas tank as the other models.

 

Just checked Toyota's website, they're all 21 gallons, regardless of the trim package.

 

Yup even my single cab is a 21

 

That's one thing I do miss - a bigger gas tank. Last truck had a 36 gallon tank. It was nice going 4 weeks on a single fill up. I'm lucky to get a full 2 weeks now.
