I wasn't 100% accurate, it's a bolt on piece to the rear part of the frame. I just remember it wasn't a something you'd get from a 3rd party. Here's a pic of one, I recall mine looking nearly identical to this once except the connection was to the left tucked behind the bumper valance.

That's the same receiver for sure.

My connection isn't so obvious, I'll check for it one day. So it was a 7 pin harness from factory, right?

Mine had both the 4 pin and 7 pin.

So, I'm not sure why Icon recommends a rear track bar for the 4Runner with KDSS and King has coilovers with different part numbers for 4Runners with and without KDSS and ARB doesn't mention anything except needing a trim spacer to maintain front level. Icon recommends replacing the rear pan hard bar but king doesn't mention it. Icon uses the same front coilovers for with and without but king doesn't. I haven't delved too deeply into this however, I'm a little curious though.

Found this on T4R.org. I know what a trac bar/panhard bar is for but it doesn't seem to be an issue with the lifts these guys are running.

Whatever you read may be mixing up KDSS with X-REAS. The latter was offered on 2003-2009 4Runners (I think) and had hydraulic hoses going to the shocks to transfer fluid among them. [IMG]

KDSS basically just replaces one of the sway bar frame mounts with a shock. By closing or opening a valve to the shock, the sway bar is made stiff or soft. Imagine if one of the frame mounts on the Tacoma sway bar becomes loose - the sway bar will float and become ineffective. KDSS does this in a controlled manner. Since KDSS acts only on the sway bar, you can install coilovers with no problems.

    Pretty shitty situation.

    Thanks, bro!

Might be buying a T4R Trail when the dust settles.

    Hey Marc

I'm going to Montreal in a few weeks, should I be nervous about taking my truck ?

If you are flying out, put it in a secure and gated Park and Fly with shuttle ($100), or ONLY use a hotel with GATED parking and a 24 hour security guard. The Marriot is expensive ($350), but in retrospect.... shoulda, woulda, coulda...

Stay away from the Dorval Airport area if you don't need to be there.

I have been to Montreal at least 20 times with my truck and only have had problems near the airport.

    Where are you going... exactly?

Downtown mainly, Only there for a couple of nights. Maybe the wife's Chevy cruise is a better option. So many scratches and dents probably doing her a favour if it got stolen lol

    Take the Cruze... seriously.

These are fucking pros with laptop bypass software, and being downtown, you are minutes from a cargo container at the docks. Africa, here we come!

As you know was gonna sell the truck, buy a corolla and save some coin. But can't part ways with it. I waited 10 years to buy a Tacoma

I had a 2 door civic before this, I loaded with tools and material constantly and killed it. Great car but insurance was a killer
