We are doing alot of "spares" right now.
I had a chance to go work in the field a few years ago in iraq, afghanistan, doing repair work. It was a sweet gig, but still quit alot of turmoil over there.

 

14 myself, not used to it yet, hated it then, hate it now....oh well, it pays good, is all I can say.

 

Never adapt... just survive. Somehow

Pretty much. I mean they really dont break down that often and most places already have a spare turbine on standby in case it does.
Then we get orders for yhe spares replacement and the #1 unit gets fixed and back online.

 

I don't really have much of a choice in my line of work. 24 hours is the standard shift. Unless you work in a huge city the it's 12 hour shifts.

 

So you guys are making too good of a product then?

 

Ha. There in lies the conundrum.

 

They're going to have to get some outsourced parts from China to fix that shit. lol

 

I can neither confirm nor deny we have turned to eBay for some early 80's parts to keep us up and going...

 

What line of work are you in?

 

Semiconductor Plant. On the facilities end as a muli-ops technician. UPW, HVAC, air, steam... etc. All the systems to support and run the factory. This plant is just one of the older ones.

 

Is Texas Instruments still a thing out there?

 

Yup. Still in the top 10 semiconductor plants worldwide.

 

Lot of people I know have come or gone through there at one point or another.

 

I grew up there and knew about them back then. Don't really hear much over here about them.

Good. Just went to a photobucket pic of a smooshed taco. Truck looks sweet. Really like the white on white with the bumper. Every time I see a snorkel it moves up my list of mods

 

Thanks man. It's a slow process. I'm really digging the snorkel. It has improved the throttle response, which is a given when the butterfly opens air is forced in. lol

I'm actually thinking of painting the bumper black this go round. I like the white but it really doesn't match, it's close though. Plus it collects dirt and bugs on it and looks filthy pretty quick. I do like how the white actually lets you see the bumper instead of it just being a big shadow.
