Guess it would be a pain to keep clean. Black will tie in well though with all the other accents and parts.

Yeah but black is just kind of plain. Of course I might be better off getting enough paint to make sure all the black stuff matches too. I always forget which one I bought when I paint because I usually do them at different times. lol

I have the bed rack off right now because my son thought it would be fun to play with the wing nut I made to hold the high lift on the rack. I haven't found that nut yet and my welder needs a new gun to make a new one. It's been a pain finding one since they must have changed a connection in there somewhere and the one's they sell for mine don't match up. Talked to a guy the other day that works on them and he told me just cut the connection off and put what I need on there to fix it. Kind of hard to go cutting into a brand new $200 gun though.

I am in the power plant industry myself, in 14 years, this is my first year on 12s, every other year was 8 hour shifts.
Daylight, afternoon and midnight. 8 hours... Liked those much better. This 12 hour shit is for the birds man, almost 3 months in and it's the pits for me . Actually put a bunch of bids in for lower pay but better schedule.

I hear you, it's not for everyone. I've kinda learned to live on sleep deprivation.

I don't sleep well when I'm at work anyway.

Black is plain and boring at times, but easiest for add on parts. Tie-dye? $200 on the line would be call for a bit of a pause.

I'm working my way to normal hours eventually. Navy and out to sea was all over the map. Then 12's rotating 7 day shifts. Now just back half of the week 12s. Right direction anyways :D

Yes sir, it's not so much the sleep for me, I just really hate being here this long, I used to work 16 hour doubles all the time, for big money, now with the implementation of this 12 hour shift ...by the union mind you....you can't buy an overtime now...these young punks walked right into it, and some of the older guys too, they thought everything was going to change for the better...I told them all they were suckers, and I was right.. All the while, the company couldn't wait to set it in motion. Bunch of clowns on both sides brother, really.

It's on the list of hopefuls for someday. Right now this works and the pay is good. But I'm not sure I'd turn it down if it did come around. Adjustments can be made ;) Best of luck to you as well though. Unicorn hunts are hard :D

What sucks for us is that we get penalized for taking vacation. Our salary is dependent on our overtime. A short week for us is 96 hours in a two week period. A long week is 120 hours. So we have either 10 or 34 hours of overtime on each check. Labor board allows us to work on 43 hour weeks before overtime. Basically we don't get overtime in a check till we ht 86 hours. Well if you take vacation then you lose your overtime which lowers your annual salary because it's based on what you would work if you were here. If I take a vacation day it's 24 hours of straight pay without overtime. So I lose money if I take a day off.

Way back there they were talking about doing away with overtime for shifts like ours nationally which would have been great. We wouldn't lose money taking vacation that way. Half the people couldn't see how that would benefit us though. I tried telling them you would make the same salary per year but, your hourly wage would go up to compensate for no overtime. They still didn't get it.

Oh man, I get it....I tried to tell the guys here that were making the $30k-$40k extra in OT that when we went to this 12hr gig, they would lose out, BIG TIME, well, 3 months later and some n of the heavy hitters here on the OT have not had 1 yet.....it's hard for me to feel bad about it though, the 12 hour shifts were put up to union vote in our department, and some of the same guys voted themselves a MINUS $30K salary this year....talk about unreal !! Needless to say....the company was salivating!

I'm glad we don't have unions here. Seems they look out for themselves more than the working guys anymore.
