I'm in the early stages of my build and really digging your rig. As far as supplies, what are you having a hard time finding? or was it just the plywood issue (and i'm assuming a weatherproof issue)?

Ive been doing lots of thinking, drawing and rethinking. My current train of thought involves the more cost efficient wood, even pressure treated, then cutting it a hair short and line-xing it. but i also dont know how much cheaper that would end up being then....Its not a huge concern to me however, i wont line-x my system bc im putting a 100xr cap on my truck.

Yea i may end up with just going the wood route honestly i found a online supplier that sells trex by the sheets but by the time i add the sliders handles and ect i could almost buy a professionally built set. My soft topper keeps 95% of water out if ive got it parked nose down and it downpours for hours it will leak a little at the front corners..may see if i can come up with a fix for that this weekend. Also working on something else for the soft topper. Going to look at a local slightly used smitty built rtt tomorrow if i can pick up for a deal then ill more then likely go that route to get me off the ground for now and go with a cvt summit series next year or so if i outgrow the smittybuilt. Still waiting for my rack to ship from allpro. And truck should be in the shop by the 14th of next month for armor. Got so much going on within the next few months :bananadead:

    Nice build!

I may have missed it but how was the install for the Prinsu rack? Anything you wish you had known before you started or wish you did different?

I've been waiting for a group buy for awhile but not sure I can wait any longer! I'm torn between that and a front runner at the moment.

Thanks! And i didnt take pictures of the install as i was kind of in a hurry to get it together. And yea one thing i wish i could have done differently is used the punch method for the weather stripping or atleast got some kind of adhesive to re apply the stripping after removing it and cutting it. I currently do not have the weather stripping on. I siliconed everything really good and i havent had any leaks at all and have been through some heavy down pours so im not planning to reinstall the weather stripping unless i get free time or if it decides to leak on me.

I really dig it man! Just got the identical truck last week. What tire are you running? I already ordered the soft topper. How sturdy are they on the highway? Make much noise?

Thanks man I appreciate it and they are cooper discovery st maxxes. I drive about 15 miles on interstate everyday to work and run about 75mph no problems at all so far woth the soft topper and i have a roof rack that makes a little wind noise i doubt you would notice the soft topper making any noise.

Got the rack finished up today definitely not my best weld work but i was in a pinch to have it done before this weekend. Drilled new holes in the ladder on the rtt as well so it could stand at his height. All pro ott rack will be here the 6th not sure what route i will end up keeping.
