Lol. Had to get rid of these ugly things... those caps were so hideous.

The wheels are gorgeous. That cap they come with ruins the whole thing. I've been plotting on a solution for months, and I'm super happy with what I came up with.

Yeah. They got that "a kid is going to step on them and break them" thing going on too. They almost stuck out past the lip of the wheel.

I don't think I would do that with him working in Hanover county every day. Those cops aren't always understanding. Some seem oblivious, yet some seem to try and enforce every law ever written.

Would be easy. Just slip a piece of black plastic in front of the light for the daily grind. They'd never notice

Then why have it in there at all? I've never understood the desire for a led in a scoop? Doesn't it just turn the end of your hood in u o a giant glare bomb? :notsure: or am I way off on this and it actually throws a good bit of light?

Seriously. I always thought it was just to try to get as many leds on your truck as possible, which I will admit, I don't always agree with. I actually took most of mine off my truck.

From the pictures I've seen it throws good light. Less glare than those roof mounted light bars. The hood in front of the scoop slopes down for one. For two, the bulge of the scoop itself would block any glare for the driver. The plastic cop relief cover would be removable of course for those trips to the mountains.

If i had a scoop (and i really do want one!) I'd light it up!

@Wild Crow maybe this summer you would consider helping me mount one in my scoop.
I've seen a couple and it does look good.

Sure. I would consider it. Never done it before but how difficult could it be?

Nah... it's just for looks. And possibly the light bar idea. Maybe... it's undecided.

I had to replace the hood anyway because of the hail damage, so I figured I might as well upgrade. Especially when you have a buddy that sells crash parts who owes you a favor and you get it for free. :D

I might possibly do it. I'm going to take a look around and try to find some info on how it'll look. I was already thinking about ditch brackets, and have another set of LED pods just hanging out in the garage, so I might just stick with that. Should be enough light for anything I ever plan on doing. And the Hanover cops really haven't ever bugged me much. Ashland PD is a WHOLE different story though. Some of those guys are all about some action, however they can get it.

I can say, however, that after this last trip to Flagpole, suspension has definitely moved up on my list. Stock coils and jacked up 5100's just aren't cutting it anymore. They're perfectly fine for the mall and the beach, but in the mountains it's functional, but it's not fun. I've been researching and looking at spring rates and stuff. I'm wondering how a 5100 (back to 0 setting) and 885 or 887 with my bumper/winch/skidplate (whenever they're done) combo would ride. I'm thinking it's gotta be better than what I have now. I'm thinking since I'm an AC w/ a manual trans (lighter than an auto) instead of DC, it might be the way to go, even though I have the extra weight.

Nice. Free is the best price. :D

For the suspension setup, maybe give Headstrong a call. From everything I read in the wnd "What you've done today" thread they have the best prices and it seems like a lot of people are doing 5100s and OME springs recently.

I do not mean to intrude, but, I cn tell you Steven will probably be better with OME springs than Eibachs. I have the 5100's with the Eibach 620# springs which, I believe, is their heaviest. Idk how well they'd handle his plate bumper with the winch. With my 5100's set at 0 they only gave me 1 1/2" lift so had to bump to .85 setting to get my 2.5" Perhaps Eibach sells a heavier spring idk

The Eibach would have to be heavier or longer. From what I've been reading on the OME springs most of them are all the same weight. They just get longer.

BTW, I got my resonator welded into the exhaust. World of difference from the 20-30 miles that I drove around after I picked it up after work. I can't tell any difference in power from before, but the drone at 70+ is gone. Also, I don't have to crank the stereo to 35-40 just to hear it and then back down to 25-30 when I come to a stop. Very happy. :bananadance: :dancingbacon: :broccoli: :jellydance: :kona: :taco: :woot:
