So I returned to a dealership, which is down the road from me, that declined me service because I had changed out suspension on the truck. This time I came for an oil change and to see if they will now check my steering wheel off center issue. This time they said no problem and asked if I'd done the 5000 mile service yet. I said no and they gladly decided to help. Quite suprised...last time they asked if I bought my truck there. When I told them no, they declined me service under warranty. Was told I'd have to take it to the original place of purchase to get issues checked...because of the lift. So we'll see what crap they give me when they call me. Truck is a 2016 with exactly 5k on it. Anyone else experienced this?

They only rotate tires at 5000 miles and check the truck out electronically. First oil change is 10,000 miles since 3rd generation can only use synthetic oil. I would have them check the tranny fluid level which you have to ask for. They will ask why so you might have to make something up FYI, they won't want to do it from what I heard from other threads.

They changed my oil/filter and rotated my tires after I owned my truck a year. Had just under 4,000 miles on it. It was not the dealer I bought my truck from either.

Some dealers are easy to work with and others not so much. Find one that is "user friendly" so to speak.

What tibadoe said. I've had great experiences with Toyota Boerne. Just wish they weren't all the way out in Boerne...

Sounds like you just had a shitty service tech the first time you went.

Off subject but they have a 4runner here with 20" Rotiform wheels and a spacer lift. $10,000 option. Nice wheels though. Lol. Not 10K nice but nice.
I agree. I bought the truck in Boerne but for basic maintenance and I usually only have a Sat to do it...it is a bit to out there for me.

I'd try Toyota Boerne or North Park Toyota...if you're willing to make the drive

Update: Alamo Toyota would not fix my steering wheel being off center issue. They claim it's out of warranty and would not even look at it. Spoke with service manager who told me to take it back to the shop I installed the lit at...that my lift was put on incorrectly. Bastards.

Well putting an aftermarket lift kit on a vehicle, incorrectly or correctly will alter the alignment. The dealer looks at who is going to pay. The manufacturer isnt going to pay because there is now defect in part. The vehicle was altered with after market parts. It is now up to the dealer if they want to try and align it with the aftermarket parts.

I understand their part on this...though the truck didn't need an alignment...it's been aligned. They only needed to remedy why my steering wheel won't stay on center. Main reason I took it in was for an oil change. They also didn't do that when I picked it up...said I HAD TO wait 10000 miles. Anyway, I'm at the valvoline getting it done right now.

Find a new dealer. I work for a Toyota dealer in Central PA and we see lots of lifted trucks. Some are done well and others are not. We will repair the ones we can and offer advice on the others but always have the client's interests in mind. Doesn't sound like they are doing a great job of explaining how the ToyotaCare rules work on oil changes and the timing of them.

BTW, there is no warranty on alignment, there is a 12 month or 12k mile adjustment period but Toyota typically only reimburses the dealership for one alignment during that period.

Hate hearing this stuff, gives all dealers a bad rep. Thanks to the others that took the time to point out the good ones!

Steering wheel alignment has always been included in the alignments I have received.

The steering not staying on center. Do you mean its not centered to drive straight. Or the vehicle pulls when you pet go of steering wheel?

Also i think it only rotate and balance at 5k and rotate and oil servive at 10k unless i read toyocare incorrectly

No. The truck drives straight. The steering wheel will move from 12 o clock, perfectly straight, to off center if I twist the steering wheel from lock to lock. I'm sure something just needs to be tightened up. Anyway, I got my oil changed, truck washed, 5000 mile service with tire rotation so I'm happy. I'll just have to quit purposely trying to off center the steering wheel. OCD thing.

Something might be loose under there. Did this started happening after you had it lifted?? If so take it back to them and have them make sure everything is tight
