What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Started ripping apart the front suspension to install coil bucket gussets and cam tab gussets. Found these:

Wow, that's pretty crazy.

Today I changed the oil, greased the drive shaft, and changed the oil in the diffs and transfer case. Didn't change the AT fluid since that got changed last year when I bought the truck.

Hey, question for ya'll. Just today while I was crawling around under the truck, I noticed that in addition to the u-joint zerks on the main drive shaft, the drive shaft that runs from the transfer case to the front diff also has a couple of u-joints and a slip joint that also have zerks on them. How often do you guys grease those?

New Mickey Thompson wheels and Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires, with hub centric rings and gorilla locking lugnuts.
And I also put a new blower motor in, because I got sick of the rattling sound from the old one's worn out brushes every time I turned the air on. Lol
(I'm gonna paint that topper black as soon as it stops raining here)

I had never looked that close before. Its interesting how the support is welded on at some points but where the split is looks like seam sealer. Maybe it is welded behind the sealer but

I wouldn't think to hard about it, and I doubt there's any correlation to how hard you wheel. Fatigue is a cruel mistress.

 

I like that roof basket you got on your shell.. do you happen to know what brand it is? I was thinking of doing the same on mine

 

It's a weird joint, but it's clearly metal that's cracked and not seam sealer.

I was thinking it is directly correlated to what I put my rig through.

 

Could be, that's a high stress area even on road in a turn though.
