Drivers side diff seal NIGHTMARE

The last one was visibly messed up. When I swapped the cv last night it looked fine. They don't go in easy. I also used rtv on the outside per ecgs suggestion. I just drove to the store and back and there was no leakage, but Im not gonna get my hopes up.

 

I should clarify. The coupler was 1 1/2"-2" coupler. No extension pipe needed. Tapped on the 1 1/2" end with 4 pound hammer. Made sure seal was moist with some gear oil.

 

Good on the rtv.

Did the messed up one look like it was damaged during installing the cv or during the seal install? That will help you narrow down the procedure that is causing the issue.

Hopefully the current one will be fine.

 

Damage in install...the last one did not go in straight at first. This current one went in perfect. (Had the shock off)

Are you lifted/Leveled?

 

Well driven quite a bit recently and no leaking. After replacing the cv it only leaked a very small amount, could have been because it already passed the seal.

 

Yeah like 3"

 

Not a fan

Won't work with my skid anyway
