I ordered up bits for a scaler finally. Chinese d90 body with full interior, 2 jerry cans and mounts, GMade NR01 1.9 beadlocks, 1:1 transfer case, 14:1 planetary for remote motor mounting, and Dingo fender flares to keep it legal. I plan on scx10 axles and some scale tires. Shooting for a military or NATO theme as an end result. I'm hoping the scx10 chassis rails will tuck underneath well and I'll be able to run Class 1. No pics yet. Maybe next week.

I have been considering getting back into RC. I got my t-maxx when I was 12 years old in 2000. It has sat for nearly a decade. Here is what it looked like in its prime:Right.jpg Left2.jpg

I dug it back out recently the to find the motor is gummed up and the radio was pretty much toast. The body is thrashed and there are LOTs of worn out parts.

    I have done the following:
-Tmaxx 2.5 chassis to accept a slide carb motor
    -T-maxx 3.3 bell cranks
    -T-maxx 2.5 driveshafts
    -New brake disk
    -3.3 style slipper clutch upgrade
-New motor mount and clutch/flywheel assembly
-Forward only conversion (cheaper than repairing/ modifying reverse with the new bellcranks)
-A bunch of other part updates that came with the chassis

Here is how it sits now:

    IMG_20170325_091004.jpg
I still need a motor and a radio. Thinking the Traxxas 3.3 and this radio:
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAVSY&P=ML

    Thoughts?? suggestions??

I am kind of at a point where I could just buy a new Tmaxx 3.3 for the same that it would cost to keep rebuilding this one.

Is this roller worth selling?? What is it worth?? It would be perfect for somebody that wants a tmaxx with a motor and radio of their choosing. Should that person be me? As you can see, I am conflicted.

I am looking to get rid of my HPI savage. its a 5.7 motor I believe. Its been so long since I have had the truck I forget. It has the big bore shocks. The rims and tires are good too. Not sure if it runs. Also no remote. Not really looking to ship it unless buyer makes it worth it, but willing to drive maybe 50 miles or so, depending on the offer. If anyone is interested make a offer see if we can do something. Over all truck is in good shape. Once I get back to work and have money I want to get into electric trucks. Should I go with a brushless emaxx or a and savage flux?

Finished up my Mini EREVO , this weekend. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The thing really flies on the new 3S Lipo. It handles worlds better than stock, as well.

How is the Revo over Emaxx? Revos came out a year or two after I got out the hobby

I'd say it is an upgrade. The handling is better and a bit more versatile. It is more of a Monster Truck / Truggy hybrid, while the Emaxx is 100% monster truck. You can drop the EREVO down a bit, throw on race tires and it'll hold it's own on a track night. The EREVOs do have a bit of a reputation for being expensive to own. I have broken a few things on 6s. Not sure if EMAXXs have the same diff issues that have problems, like the EREVOs. The next time mine need attention, I am thinking of just going with Hot Racing aluminum bulkheads, to eliminate any flexing in the area, to hold everything tighter. But I love the EREVOs, which is why I have a big one and a mini.

Cool, maybe I should look into getting one of those. I already owned a T-Maxx so why not try something new.

    That's cool!

What platform are you running and did you make your own Jeep body?

It is an Axial SCX10 II. It is the stock lexan Cherokee body. I used the Common 'sense RC "No solder Realistic LED Lighting Kit". Not perfect, but you can make it work..

Seems like it should be a bit faster. Are you set for full throttle and LiPo?

Lol, it is meant to be slow. Converted to an 18V brushed Dewalt motor geared 11/54.
