Last week I have my '14 SR5 serviced at AutoNation in Fort Myers and walked the lot checking out trucks. Apparently there was a March sale going on and there seemed to be some pretty fair discounts posted.

Running the math, the sale price on the mirror tags were from 14% to 19% less than the MSRP.
There was a TRD there with MSRP of $37k with a sale tag of $30. They also had stuck in there two $499 options after the MSRP for "protection" but not necessary to purchase.

Are prices softening up or are the MSRP's stupid high. I haven't shopped since late 2013 so just wondering what you guys and gals with new models did lately?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Pretty sure they aren't discounting 19%.

I dunno. Mine was MSRP of 35K and when you look at the paperwork broken down they dropped it to like 29500. Before tags title warranty all the BS fluff.

It may advertise for 30K but you'll probably be paying closer to 33-34k walking out the door

Seriously, this one had a window MSRP of 37,235 and a pink sale tag of $30,033. I just looked at their website and it's gone so must have been to go to last.

If they're priced well they don't stay long!

I had 2 people test drive my truck while working out the pricing when I bought.

WOW that's a high pressure sale environment for sure! I had three sales people come out to me while I was walking the lot asking if I'm buying. My first 1977 cost a little more than your sales tax and license fee. THanks for sharing that.

Actually, the TRD sale I saw was before all that, so say it was $30,033+dealer+tags+sales tax, etc=$33,400 more or less in Florida. So end of the day it was 11% off MSRP

Yep. I just learned yesterday it's going to cost me 600 dollars a year to register my truck too.

Yea... I get up in Delaware. There it's a 25 dollar a year deal on every vehicle. 600 dollars would register me in Delaware for 24 years.

Vehicle sales are down in general from last year. As predicted months ago there are some pretty good incentives right now.
