I just purchased a 17 Taco TRD Sport a week ago. I just returned from a trip and have found that after about 1/2 hour I am in terrible pain from driving. The pain is in my right thigh specially on the inside. I have tried adjusting the seat every which was possible with no relief. I am 5'10 so not overally tall. I ended up buying a cushion from Walmart to sit on. I do feel like a spring coil wire thing sticking up on front right of seat just before the seat ends. So not sure if that's causing the pain or not. Has anyone else experienced this ?

    Thanks
    Frank

My butt goes numb after about 90 minutes in mine. The seat is not ideal for long trips the way it is.

Take it back to the dealer and get them to swap that seat out because of the spring...see if that helps...

How long for your brain to go numb, or is it just like that all the time?

I took mine on a 5 hour trip to Cincinnati when I first got it, drove quite a bit , wasn't too bad really, now if you want a shitty ride seat, get a 16 Honda Civic, in 9o mins , you'd be like fuck this , let me out.

If a spring is messed up it could potentially cause you discomfort. Used to drive a Canyon when they first came out for NAPA and the seat was a little messed up, really messed with my back.

My Taco though.. love it. I've done a few long(er) distance trips in it already and have had NO issues with the seats. Far better than my 96 Golf that I scrapped when I bought this thing. I do like my WRX seats better though.

If you have your wallet on your right back pocket, try to not put it there when you're driving. See if this helps. Maybe the seat is not comfortable enough plus a wallet on your pocket aggravates the situation. There's actually a name for that, "fat wallet syndrome" where the sciatic nerve get compressed and causes pain. May not be the case for you but doesn't hurt to try. Hope it helps alleviate your pain.

I can't believe Toyota doesn't make a seat for the Tacoma that's perfect for everyone. Or a Tacoma that accelerates like a top fuel dragster, and gets fuel mileage like a Prius, and offroads like Madrams rock bouncer, and is as quiet as a Rolls, and pulls a load up a hill like a 600hp/2050ft lb Peterbilt. Stupid Toyota.

Can confirm had a '15 Civic Si, even 30 minutes was hell on my spine. The Taco seats aren't perfect but they're Lazy Boy recliners in comfort comparison. I do wish they had a little more lumbar adjustment though.

    Frank,

My right leg went numb after 90 minutes of pain on the drive home from the dealer so it started right then for me.

Took it to a local and awesome upholstery shop, and they took care of me for $200. they've done this before many times. they trimmed the foam from the bottom to drop the position a bit in the bucket, and they filled the void with very soft foam to take out the slack in the seat after losing some of the foam in the bucket area.

results for me were perfect. it's a perfectly comfortable seat now and i've spent many consecutive hours driving all over Texas to prove it. maybe a consideration for you, but find a shop who has experience if you try it.

Simple solution, turn the seat warmers on.

I have problems with my back and had to sell a couple cars cause they were killing me with back pain. My Tacoma TRD Sport seats are actually quite comfortable and I've taken trips in it for 4+ hours with no problem. Maybe give them a little time, when I first bought it the seat was a little stiff but after a couple weeks it felt good (or maybe I just got used to it).

The lack of height and seat angle adjustability is atrocious, but I drove mine 900 miles on the first day, just stopping for gas and was fine, I find them very comfortable. To the OP, there is a thread in here where someone added spacers to the rear 2 seat bolts, that might be worth trying. Shame they have crappy mounting system as id like to add spacer to the front and rear bolts so the wife has a better seating position, but due to the angle you can't use basic spacers in the front bolts.
