I recently purchased a 17 DBL cab Tacoma sr5. It has keyless entry and I was wondering if it had a feature to auto lock the doors after a certain time after I turn off the truck and exit. Does anyone know if this is a feature I have?

If you unlock the doors but don't open them, they will automatically lock again. You can set that feature. But as far as what you are asking, I don't think you can unless the dealer has a option.

I'm sure the Tech stream program that the dealer has can customize your settings. The have been able to do what you ask as far back as 2007.

He is wanting passive locking. My Corvette has it but even the Avalon does not offer it..it would need the smart key to work at that.

I was thinking of it as if I got out and forgot to lock it. It would lock after a certain amount of time.

My '09 Tundra does as long as keys are in your pocket.

I don't see it in the Tech stream options for the Tacoma.
Closest thing is "Wireless Auto Lock" on the last page, but by default that's already on.

Isn't the last one on the last page what you want?

Something is obviously up with mine. Is this the setting that's changed on the engine screen settings? I changed it to 30 seconds and it still doesn't auto lock.

That only works if you unlock the doors and don't open them within 30 seconds.

It was set for 60seconds yesterday and I know for a fact I was away from it for longer than that so it should've locked!

Drive truck, park it, get out and walk away without locking the doors. No, they won’t auto lock.

    Try it. See what happens.

If you hit the button on your key to unlock the doors and do not open the door in the set amount of time, then the doors will re-lock

Absolutely would need to be a smart key equipped vehicle or you'd be locking keys inside the car if you left them in there.
