Well I installed the replacement ladder and took the truck camping again to test it out. No good. The new one collapses just like the old one.

Pissed me off so bad I ordered a sliding ladder from. Cvt and it solved all my problems. Telescoping ladder was a retarded idea.

I finally had a chance to set up my GT-140 this weekend, though not camp in it yet. A few questions I have:
    1. What are the 2 large boards for that came in the tent box? Are these simply to protect the tent for shipping?
    2. There were some small screws that came in the box which are not mentioned in the directions, and I can't seem to find a place for
    3. Directions: Images could have been a lot better, and explanations for which way to install bolts (from inside or outside the tent), stuff like that. Some steps only showed the end result, which does no help when you're trying to figure out which way things go (which way the angle goes on the ladder hinge).
    4. There are two nylon straps attached to the poles on the inside of the tent with looped ends (one on each side) - where do these go and what is their purpose?
    5. The ladder? Meh, it's kinda finicky. I can't really figure out if it's working or not.
I love how easy it is to zip the cover on this tent. Very smooth! My first time setting up the tent solo took me about 20 minutes. I'm short so I had to climb around some stuff, stand on my tire, grab my roof bars, and even use a small step ladder I keep in the back. Not bad in my opinion.

The straps inside on the far pole are handles to help you climb in and out

The bungie cords attach to the eyelets on both sides of the tent to help pull the sides in when closing up. But there are 2 large nylon straps with sewn loops on the end that are already fixed to the poles. Those I have no idea where they go.

I can see if I can scan the directions and create a PDF. Though I could probably write better directions and provide better images if I were to start all over again. There are many steps where a good image would answer a lot of questions/guesses.

Posting directions in PDF format to the manufacturer website is also a great solution. Hint hint @GEOADVENTUREGEAR

Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can get to those screws now, may be difficult now that the tent is mounted on my cap.

The velcro didn't hold my mattress down. :(

Oh, the plastic film that is fixed to the bottom tent floor... I left it there, but now I'm thinking I should have removed it before installing.

Things like this would be easy to call out in the directions.

    * Brown boards are used to protect your tent while shipping and can be discarded.
** Remove plastic film from tent floor before installing. This is only used to protect your tent while shipping.

Simple one liners like that would be so helpful in the directions.

I'd like to create a video next time I put my tent up.

??? Help me get in and out? I don't think they reach the door. And I don't really feel safe putting my weight on the poles. Are you sure about this?

Yeah I'm sure. They just need to be far enough to grab to get on and off the ladder. I don't use them I think I'm gonna cut them off

To be honest, I use YouTube as a shopping tool. I love to see how other people use products and watch reviews (making note if they got a product for free to see how biased they are). I'm still going to make a video for the GT-140, sort of a walkthrough on setup and tear down, and point out things like how it mounts and such. If it helps a person make a decision, it will be well worth it.

I don't think I'll use them either. I climbed the ladder yesterday with my pup and gave him a boost into the tent without a problem. Mind you he's a 25lb. cockapoo. He approves of the view.

The GT-140 is wider and taller than the following CVT and Tepui per my research. Materials are the same as the Tepui, and almost identical to the CVT.

    Tepui Ayer Sky: 48" W x 84" L x 39" H
    CVT Mt. Bachelor Standard Pioneer: 48″ W x 96″ L x 45″ H

Hey man I'm still waiting for the telescoping ladder from Ander, I have been talking to him personally about the issue. And he is in the process of making it right. I think he got a couple bad batches of ladder, witch he had no control over unfortunately. The sliding ladder I borrowed from a buddy just to be able to use the tent for now. I'm still waiting for the telescoping. Patients guys, all will work out in the end:thumbsup: but aside from the ladder hiccup, the tent is bad ass guys. Keeps really warm at night, all most to warm lol. Keep kindling myself sticking my leg out of the sleeping bag to cool off. This tent makes camping life a cake walk. I keep 2 sleeping bags, extra blanket, and 2 full sized pillows in it at all time. It all fits when you fold it up. So when you open your tent. Everything is already set up

To add to this...I just used my GT-140 on a wheeling trip in TN last weekend where it had a HEAVY constant downpour of rain and up to 50mph wind gusts from 6pm Saturday night until I packed up camp Sunday morning. Not one bit of water inside....

I mean Ander might offer one, not sure. I would contact him. But I'm sure he will pitch in once he sees this. I still have high hopes for the telescoping ladder
