If they put E rated mudd terrains on from the factory they wouldn't sell any due to horrible ride and fuel economy.

I did at first but the Truck has really grown on me. The more the truck breaks in the better I like it.

I absolutely love my 16 Silverado LTZ with the 6.2l. I've put 9000 miles on it since December and not had one issue at all. 18 mpg combined with AT tires to boot.

The fit and finish, ride quality and drivetrain is head and shoulders better than my previous 16 TRD OR.

Different truck. I don't think you can compare a full size truck made by anyone to a midsize truck. Different animal.

18 months of ownership. Lots of things to like, however.

Main issues: seats are uncomfortable and on a long trip and going up a long grade it struggles. - Seems more of a trans problem than a power problem.
ECT button helps keep RPM up and is your best friend when driving a Tacoma.

Around town, single lane mountain highways, off-road driving runs and drives great.

Out here is SoCal to get out to the Desert you have to go up the Cajon Pass which has too fairly steep grades, neither too long (3-4 miles.) Taco seems to run great on this section. 75 - 80 no problem.
But on the long highway grades, the Taco chugs along while all the big boy trucks blast by you doing 85.

Overall a good truck - Trans seems to be the biggest letdown.

Believe it or not it's the engine. Ok horsepower but not enough torque. Toyota dropped the ball on this. Torque numbers should be 20% higher than the horsepower. Transmission down shifts on hills because of the lack of torque. Toyota was to worried about gas mileage. My best gas one time 23.5 my average is 18. Not that great. If they increase the torque I believe gas mileage would also be better.

Look at the horsepower & torque numbers on all other mid size trucks.

I think your right! More torque would do wonders for this truck.

No remorse here. I have a '16 TRD/OR and love it so far.

Wife got me a '17 SR5 as an anniversary gift, so was only one of 3 different trucks I had picked out in a spurt of "dream shopping", but after the first 500 miles, few if any complaints. That being said, things I would have liked to be included are....

Backup camera able to be used other than just in reverse - spoiled by being able to use it in my wife's car to ensure fully in the garage. Would like to have able to activate at any time.

Folding handle on driver side headliner - shorter guy, would be nice is all

Factory stereo layout - not a real issue, but I use a cd mounted phone clip, and even though the bottom of it is flat with aftermarket screw, still causes minor issue pushing very top buttons, which includes phone button.

Modification points/holes - total pipe dream, but mounting points or holes predrilled to allow addition of roll bar, or other modifications without having to do it myself.

Lumbar support in front passenger seat - nuff said.

And the very last is involved with the logic of the stereo system. I have a couple contact cards in my contact list that use my phone number. With our last two vehicles, they selected the default one, displaying the name as such, but the truck picks the first one alphabetically....

Just my initial two cents, other things mentioned here (rattle, wing mirror noise, etc...) are nonexistent for me.

Yeah but about the same price? Jeez- Toyota should be taking notes here..

I mean if the Yota was $10-$15K cheaper, I'd say yeah the shortcomings are tolerable. But it ain't.

Bought a custom grille fom someone on Offerup for $150. Mainly bought it, so i didn't have to do all the work myself on my OEM grille. Didn't realize it had a sizeable dent in it until i got home. Now i'm trying to figure out how to fix that.

Well, my OR with all bells and whistles came in at almost 41,000. I'm going to have to add a lot of stuff the pro comes with before I can do serious off-road trails. Like the thicker skid plates..etc. I should have done more research.
