I'm looking to put a 3" lift on and wondering if I should go
with a block or a AAL in the rear.

Will 3" in the front and a 1.5" in the rear keep it level?

Stay away from blocks and spacers. Go with AAL and springs

So you went with the last option you posted. The one including shocks for the extra $40

That kit is still trash. Why spend over $30k on a truck and buy junk for it?

Most people on this forum with recommend bilstein 5100 all around. Most lift with 887 springs (2 inch lift) or 888 springs (3 inch lift)

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p401/Coil/Bilstein_5100_Kit_(HS16BK-1).html

$643 to lift it with actual shocks and struts if you don't purchase UCA

Don't use blocks and spacers. Leave the overload in with 1.5" progressive AAL you can get 2". Once you start going into 2.5" and more you are inviting issues.....

Front, I'd go with 3rd gen 5100's and keep the factory springs. Rear, 3 leaf add-a-leaf with 1/2" lean spacer and 5100's.

taco lean spacer is usually 1/4" and does not go in the rear but on the front coil/spring? or.....?

My rear is over an inch to the left :angrygirl: front is dead even since I added a 1/4" spacer. Rear is still over 3/4" off even with the 1/2" shim/ spacer. Frustrating to say the least.

What about for 2" in front and 1" in rear?

    5100's up front?
Is there an AAL that'll get me 1" in rear, or would a 1" block be acceptable? The only AAL's I'm seeing are 2".

If you want level I'd max out the 6112s (5th notch passenger side 6th notch driver side) then 1.5" AAL in rear. If you do 2 inches in front and only 1 inch in rear I think you may have a slight " bro rake" (front end high)

Yeah, I definitely don't want the front end high.

    Hey Notony,

I can purchase that kit that you added the link for and it is ready to be installed? theres nothing else i will need to purchase with that? sorry for all the questions i am very new at this and want to make sure i do it right the first time. a 3'' lift is all i want on my truck, dont really see myself going any higher.

If i purchase this kit from the link and show up to a local shop, they wont have to add anything to this correct? just charge me for install and alignment.

    thanks,
    Matt

I ended up not doing anything. kept reading so many vibe and other issues I said fuk-it
for right now as it's my daily driver so I have no desire or time for any issues that may
    arise from a lift.

I ordered it today. I went with the 888 spring. LR UCA's. Strut assembly. And AAL in the back.

Should be getting a local shop here to install it next week. What's a fair rate for a shop to charge for install? One shop I talked to charges $89/hr

You're going to need an ECGS bushing to fix the needle bearing which will fail sooner than later and you'll be driving down the road chewing up your driver side axle which will cost a ton more to.fix down the road.
