The pro doesn't even come with skids or armor comparable to the aftermarket stuff anyhow. The tires are the same as the TRD OR. Please explain what you think you could have done with the pro that you cannot do with a TRD OR? You can put a better suspension, armor and tires on the TRD OR for less than what the pro costs out the door. You're talking 5 or 6 grand difference. Also I got my TRD OR for 500 over invoice and it is LOADED with JBL and even the exterior package for 39.5 OTD. You can do a lot of aftermarket mods for 5 or 6 grand.

When I had mine I just went with 6112/5160's, an AAL and 265 size tires.

Rims and tires were the biggest expense. You don't need to swap the stock rims- just better meats are all you need. I didn't even lift mine more than 1.5"- I wanted the Bilsteins because of the crappy BLM roads I travel when bird hunting. I did add armor too. $2K and you are set.

If I were to buy another Tacoma new (which I won't), it would not be the OR version. I would have got a base 4x4 stripped and done the mods. The OR bells and whistles are not that impressive.

Or do what I did. Ditch the Toyota and stick with a dedicated trail pig.:crapstorm:

I agree at most I'd get the SR5 if I had to do over. Crawl Control is a useless gimmick.

Yup. The locker is the only useful item.
