So just got a 2016 Cannondale Habit 6, these have Rockshox Recon TK's in the front, however these are springs and not the solo airs (I took apart my left side of the fork trying to find the air valve and figured out these are spring only), The problem I am having is that the model on the fork body says Recon Silver TK 120mm travel 27.5", I can not find that on SRAM's website as a model they offer in spring only (Supposedly only offered as Solo airs in 27.5"), and because I am a heavier guy, the medium (red) stiff springs on the fork just aren't doing it. Does anyone have experience with these forks and where I can get the extra stiff springs for these at? I looked all over the interwebs and can only find 100mm travel or for a different rockshox product family (reba for example).

TL;DR Bought brand new bike front coils are not stiff enough for my heavy body and want to know what springs can be used interchangeably with the Recon product line.

I have a recon on my stache, and the air port is on the top of the fork, and there's an air chart on the leg. It sounds like an XC series fork not a recon. They make air conversion kits which I'd highly suggest if your gonna keep it. It really surprises me they put a coil fork on a 2016 bike, but then again it surprised me to see drum brakes on a 2016 Tacoma. It sucks but in mho I'd just change the fork to something better, you can pickup a good fork for a couple hundred bucks. I'm gonna be upgrading mine in the next few weeks. Manitou,Xfusion,DVO are making a really good product these days.

That is what is confusing me, because the model on the fork says recon silver Tk 27.5 and it has a spring instead of the solo air, everything on the web suggest it should be solo air

Swap coil to extra firm one and ride it...........I have a 27.5 XC30 on one of my mid range mtb's and it works great......after swapping to the extra firm coil. I have and older tora 32 coil on another of my mtbs and it has held up great for what it is.....with the extra firm coil as well. When you have 8 offroad bikes they all don't need to be race team level high maintenance studs.....a couple of those is enough. Lot to be said for mid level super dependable low maintenance rides. Keeps you riding while Push is rebuilding your high maintenance diva shit..........

My next bike narrowed down to a Transition Scout or maybe a Guerilla Gravity Trail Pistol. 2 cents? Anyone?

    Both!

They are two different bikes... 27.5 wheels vs 29er / 27.5 plus option. Hard to compare, and I think depending on where you do majority of your riding, both of those bikes have their places.

What part of the country are you in? what kind of riding do you like to do? are you considering the AL or carbon scout?

AHHH, missed the "plus" on the Trail Pistol. I'm looking for a straight 27.5. Also liked the Santa Cruz 5010 but decided I like the Scout better. I'm in upstate NY (Catskill Mts) typical north east woods trail riding, plenty of climbing (gotta get up to go down). I've been on hardtails for over 25 years and figured I'd give full susp a try before I trade it in for a wheelchair! I'm leaning towards aluminum, only because I'm not competing and don't think the extra $ is warranted for me to shave ~2lbs.

the scout is an awesome bike and will be a great fit. it climbs really well and handles the larger stuff a lot better than some of its competition. the 130 rear feels bottomless at times where other 130mm travel bikes, you can tell when you case or bottom out.

sounds like you have your mind made up!

Nice! Would you agree that I will gain a little on climbs by giving up a little travel? (patrol vs scout)
