Anyone going to Trona this weekend?

I was invited to go by The company that makes my RTT. Should be fun.

I guess theres like 100 people going. I have never been but the pics people post look rad

 

I'm assuming this is Trona i.e. Trona Pinnacles in CA?

I hit up Trona Pinnacles about a year ago when I first got the truck ... great spot to camp on the way into Death Valley if you're coming in from the coast. Interesting note, when we were wheeling around the pinnacles on our way out the next morning, there was a man in a full-on, high-quality Boba Fett costume roaming around on the rock formations ... later that day coming into Badwater Basin there was another man on foot carrying an enormous cross on his back – like Easter in Manila big – in 100 degree heat. Strange folk out in the desert ... part of what makes it special. Actually one of my favorite parts of CA to explore ... so much so I'm headed out again at the end of the month. Can't wait. Post pics if you head out there this weekend.

I was with the tuff stuff guys on the east side of the site, kinda up front

It was put on this last weekend by The Adventure Portal and had some great free clinics on recovery/winching, all types of tire repair, and sat coms done by Bob Wohlers of Off-Road Safety Academy. It got a little windy on Friday night but was a great event.
