Finally decided to join the band wagon...

 

Been on the train for a long time. Plan to stay there. My only complaint is the stupid preferred customer membership you have to buy annually. I usually wait until the 11th month and place a huge order to hold me over a long time. That way, I only have to renew every 18-24 months. Ha ha.

 

Sell me on it. I need to replace all my fluids.

 

Or I'll order it for you and save you the cost of the stupid membership

After this trip I think I've convinced myself to get a snorkel, even with my fender liners still in and my front fenders not cut (yet) this happened. I know snorkels aren't necessarily meant to be "waterproof" but I'm sure it could be made waterproof and/or prevent this from happening.

 

No magic snake oil stories here. I use it because my daddy always used it. That's just how I learned it was done. Ha ha. I do enjoy the longer change intervals, but that can be accomplished with any synthetic, I suppose.

I didn't really think about it but had a spare in the truck and stopped about cookeville and pulled it because I could tell my truck wasn't running like it should

 

I sunk my truck in a lake, filled the trans up with water, wheeled the rest of the weekend, drove home, drove around town for almost a month before finally draining it and during that time, I couldn't feel any adverse effects. I ran Royal Purple in my rear diff and my locker made clicking and popping noises. Swapped it out for Amsoil and it is completely silent. Makes zero noise now.

Oh and numbers will tell you how good it is. Lower heat retention, higher heat deflection, higher deterioration resistance ..... it's top of the line oil in every statistical category measured.

I pulled mine and surprisingly have no mud in there at all.
