They do offer smaller models, that was the first one that popped up on the search. They're incredibly reliable units for well under half the price of the ARB units. You might also consider Whynter. The lightweight 12v plug in models they sell at Wal-Marche and Truck-Stops are weak and prone to failure. You get what you pay for is all I'm saying.

For some reason I have the hardest time with poles. I end up carrying them most of the time.

I've used some goal zero gear and I use a Renogy flexible solar panel with my camper van. For backpacking, a portable battery about the size of a phone, but thicker, is a better deal. Get one with 1000ma of storage and you could recharge a phone 3-5 times.

It worked :) Tracking shows delivery tomorrow via UPS. I read the fine print on the 20% one-item coupon, and it stated something about discounts not applying to GPS devices, but maybe that was on the Garage side? Not sure, don't care, because it shipped and I saved 40% on it.

Finally got my Zpacks Arc Haul back from them this weekend. The correct torso made ALL of the difference, and the waist belt change-out also really dialed things in. It truly fits like a glove now. Test loaded with 20# and just about all of my JMT gear, and it was completely effortless.

Nice. I even tried on the REI app to apply the coupon on an InReach and no dice. Maybe they fixed the loophole!

There's very little margin for resellers with GPS products (I'm in the consumer electronics industry) but now I'm pretty shocked that they let me order it with the coupon. Phew! It's out for delivery right now, and I can't wait to start playing around with it and see if I can use it as my stand-alone GPS instead of needing my phone.

picked up a pair of the Northface hedgehog hiking shoes a couple of weekends ago. so far theyre pretty damn comfy. didn't need much break in and as long as its not too humid outside, they breathe just fine. interested to use them on an actual hike, and not just strolling around the neighborhood with the dog.

Looking to buy a 3 man backpacking tent. Only sleeping myself and the GF but would like some extra room for dry gear storage.
Not looking to break the bank on a tent but need something that can withstand the Wet Coast weather (3 seasons) and weighs in around or less than 5 pounds.

    What can you guys recommend?

I had the older REI quarter dome 3. It weighed about 4lbs and I used it for just the ex and myself and gear. Plenty of room. The newer model seems really nice.

Back in my boy scouting days, we used something like the REI Co-Op Half Dome 2 Plus Tent. It was enough for 2 of us and both of our backpacks inside. Granted its not the Taj Mahal, but it has enough space to easily hold 2 people and some gear.

    Freestanding?

The new REI Quarter Dome looks very nice. Packed weight 4 lbs 9 oz. $399 but can use REI 20% off coupon.

The old one looks nice too and is actually on clearance for $280 right now. Packed weight 4 lb 3 oz.

MSR Mutha Hubba would work well. Packed weight right at 5 lbs so it is heavier than the other two REI tents but you know for sure that the quality is there. $499 but can use REI 20% coupon.

The REI tents were pretty good before but lately they are really stepping up their game. I haven't used those models but if he material quality and livability of them is similar to the MSR stuff then they should be a winner.

Alternatively, get a TarpTent. A Stratospire 2 is smaller than a 3 person but the tub floor can get as wide as 62" so it's like a 2+. It also only weighs 3 lbs 12 ounces and you just use trekking poles to set it up. $349.

Consider just getting a 2 person tent with double entry and vestibules on both sides. Keep just you 2 and your sleeping gear only in the tent (still room for some gear at your feet like clothes bag/phones/charging/small items, and keep your pack/gear/shoes in the vestibule. It will save you some weight, and will be a smaller footprint if tent space is limited. I recommend the Hubba Hubba NX, as this is what my wife and I use when we are together on thru-hikes. Packed weight was right at 4# including footprint and included stakes (their stakes are awesome) and stuff sack. Setup/takedown was super easy (2 minutes) and it packs away pretty small. Great rain and wind coverage, but we never had an issue with condensation.
