First tacoma, trd pro, 1 week later tailgate stolen

Sorry to hear about that. It may have been already mentioned, but there's a guy on here selling a ton of white tail gates that were removed from fleet vehicles that had different tonneau covers installed. They are brand new and come with the camera for $350.

I would hope the scumbags know better--I'm sure they will wait a couple weeks. OP keep scouring regional for sale threads, they usually post them on there looking to get cash. Friend had his motorcycle stolen and found the guys who were selling parts an hour away. He showed up with some friends to buy it but instead of money he supplied them with baseball bats.

Not impossible, cars use wafer locks which aren't great security devices but definitely good enough to thwart some shmuck with an Amazon lock picking kit.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but its an issue in the states as well, in fact part of the 3rd gen design was to make it more difficult for thieves.

 

REALLY? I am surprised, ive looked at the my second gen's cat locations and it has quite a bit of space. Luckily its not a problem here where i live.

Has anyone with a third gen had their tailgate stolen with it locked? I always keep mine locked, but if more security is needed, I would do something more.

I'm considering getting either a hard shell tonneau cover or the truxedo hard roll up one I believe it's called the titanium. My soft cover isn't going to cut it anymore I'm starting to get a little nervous knowing a knife can get anyone into my bed

 

I should take the plastic off the interior of my tailgate and spray paint my name on it.

Had this happen to our neighbor a while back. We have security cameras, watched them drop off someone who checked both my dad's Silverado and my Tundra. Saw they didn't want either I guess and went right across the street and pulled the tailgate off their F250 and drove away. Have had my tailgates locked ever since. Sucks people have nothing better to do with their life than ruin others...
