Just get it on all the pivot points and some in the cup where the pushrod is, l tried several ways over the years and by far the Disc Brake Grease has been the only thing to work.

My point is---if the TSB was released before the 3rd gens were even out...WHY is it still a problem...haha its even more ridiculous on Toyota if the fix is the same.

Likely because it's cheaper for them to throw some grease on the squeaking ones rather than redesign everything.

My 2017 just started making the sound of an old door opening in a haunted house makes. I just hit 7900 miles. Is there an actual fix that Toyota can do to fix this or is it up to me to try some kind of lube.
    THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS.

Disc brake grease in hand, contort yourself under there and be liberal with the application while moving the pedal. Make sure to work it into the turnover spring and that pivot point that resides up high on the assembly:

this, exactly. do it right and the noise and friction from the spring will be gone. put on a nitrile glove and get a wad of the stuff and work it in there real good with your fingers to be sure you don't miss anything.

My '18 was creaking like a haunted house door on hot days, kudos to the dealer for taking me seriously when it was almost silent on the day I took it in, tech found a TSB for 2017's with the same issue, Toyota approved replacing the parts below (listed just as they are on the service order), two weeks later still quiet and as a bonus it feels better too.

    T-SB-0186-12 covers 2005-2017 Tacomas.
I printed it out and brought it to the dealer. The service manager drove my truck and I rode with him. It was creaking like crazy.
They didn’t have the parts in stock, but they ordered them. Hopefully that fixes it permanently.
