Sadly, yes. Not a good time for me to have two vehicles, neither of which could pull the other. Which is why I'll be looking into a v8 runner for the next DD. Then I can just pull BabyT when I have to move.

 

The v8 runner doesn't have a great tow rating either and is still evenly matched weight wise with babyt. Tow vehicle should be heavier than what you're towing.

 

2-300 probably.

not a terrible choice. Gonna be hard to find a good one.

Eh should be okay still. My dad tows my truck. Granted his Taco is a pig..but so is mine..

Not like he is doing it all the time.

Just need it to do it once a year at most. Probably not far since I'll just bounce around jobs in neighboring states.

Probably won't be able to go over 65.

The trailer will be important and having a load bearing hitch will help a lot too.

 

Maybe not in dry summer time. But it could get sketchy is adverse weather. I wouldn't do it. It's not like the FRV pulling Frank. The frv is long and has a higher tow rating. The 4runner is short wheelbase and without adequate braking could get very squirrelly and likely have bumper steer with baby t on the back.

 

Guess I'll have to foolishly buy the v8 runner and then get a tow pig .

I definitely do react different from you to challenges. And it's fine with me that you can't hear me when I am critical of what you say.

IMO, one can hardly call a battery failure an electrical failure. Batteries fail. Especially after what all I did to mine. But what was my reaction? A dual battery setup. One I built myself. It wont be so easy to kill one next time. And an alt failure is my fault. I drove through a stirred up mud pit and killed it. No shame in that. What I am proud of is the reaction to it. That trail fix was awesome.

Go ahead Ben, play it safe like always. Settle for the easy route. Replace your wimpy ass 80 amp alt with another one. Go ahead, spend twice what you have to for half the amps. You don't need more amperage anyways right?

 

haha yea that was a good fix. Plus, we were well prepared for it. No harm done really.
