I just wanted to start a thread to talk about my addiction with turkey hunting. The season started on the 25th here in Georgia. Post up some pictures of best gobblers, I know I'm not the only one on here that is fired up about turkey hunting!

Never been. I need to find someone that I could hunt with.
I have a shotgun my granpa gave me when he passed. Its a savage 24d deluxe. 20/22 mag. Has a turkey on one side and a fox on the other, engraved. Not sure if its actually a turkey gun.

If you go once you will be hooked for life. I never went when I was growing up. A buddy talked me into going a few years ago and I have been addicted ever since. I have an old remington 11-48 my grandpa gave me that I want to shoot a turkey with one day, the barrel needs to be threaded for a choke though the pattern is way to open with the modified barrel thats on it.

    Hey OP,

Know how I can tell you're a turkey hunter? You're up at 4:30am posting on TW!

The addiction is real. Hope to add a pic of a Georgia gobbler to this thread soon.

    Good luck all.

I wish I was going today! Work has me up at 3AM every morning, but the good thing is it makes me hard to beat to the woods when I do go. Hunting public land you dang near have to show up to a spot the day before. Good luck this year!

    Know what that ^ is?
That's the space where my picture of "Bubba", the old Tom I've been battling with for two seasons now ought to be.

I've called him in twice this year only to have him stay just outside of shotgun range before wandering off.

I swear he's got 9 lives and ESP.

Stay after him man, I have a few like that myself. I hunt public land 95% of the time so it's hard to stay on a bird!

Yeah, he lives up on a ridge on public land that takes a 30 minute hike with two creek crossings to get to.

One more weekend. Hope Saturday's not a rain out.

Good luck! I'm going mid day Friday that will be my last chance for this year. Our season goes out next Monday.
