It's a loaner from the dealership. It's a DC LB and missing a ton of features that my OR has. But it has the hood scoop. It is interesting seeing the visibility thing referenced, but not sure it would affect offroading or not. Not going to go take this one out lol.

What I don't get is how the hell did I cruise at 75MPH to work and the mileage bar was all the way to the right at 30...now I know the OR gets a little less mileage, but this seemed to be way better.

Oh and nothing is wrong with my truck, they just put the wrong remote start in so they are correcting this.

    all tore up already
Painted fender flares reduce aerodynamic drag causing increased mpg. Oh and of course air dam:bananadance:.

That being said i never seen 30mpg on a tacoma. Thought those were like fishing stories

I have a DCLB sport. The air dam on the front and the tonneau cover on the back do a lot for mileage. I average 23 to 24 on the highway if I keep it around 70. Any faster than that and "flying brick syndrome" kicks in.

The average for the tank is 22MPG. I get about 20 in mine. It does have 2000 more miles than mine. So it's more the cruising at 75MPH and getting really good mileage seemed odd.

Yeah I get around 22 on the highway or so, but yeah usually 70 or lower. This one didn't care if it was 75 or 80.

Maybe it's the "Colorado effect?" High altitude is thinner air (less resistance) and less gravity (lighter truck).

    :notsure:

    Tailwinds are helpful, too.

It was supposed to be a 2-way....they put in the basic use your factory fob. But I need better range, which is why I wanted the 2-way.

I'm pretty sure they are both aftermarket. I don't think Toyota makes a factory one?

MPG wasn't as good on the way home, must have had a bit of tailwind.

Lifetime MPG on the computer said 19.6 and I'm at about 20 according to fuelly.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I use ethanol free fuel in my taco and average 22-24mpg per tank. Many days my average is 25-26mpg for a 26 mile trip, 50/50 hwy/city.

Living in Wyoming wind makes a huge difference in MPG. 23 with the wind, turn around and get 16 driving into it.

You have been sending your wind down south lately, take it back!

Anyway, remote start works good. I park fairly far away from my office, but it works from the 4th floor. I'll try the 9th later just for the hell of it since I could end up working up there someday.

So does your remote start also shut off when you open the door like other remote start options I've seen in this forum?

I have an OR and my boss has an Sport. His sport drives much more smoothly (as far as transmission shifting) than mine.

I had the air damn on my sport, took it off in about 2 minutes.

Truck looks way better without the beard. Don't care if I lose 1 mpg or whatever. My 2013 didn't have it.
