Emergency flasher switch relocate

I'm hoping to relocate my emergency flasher switch to an empty spot below the radio, next to the 12 volt power outlets. In it's place I want to put a switch for driving lights (better location for it). Before I go tearing apart my dash, can anyone tell me if the wiring lead to the emergency flasher switch will be long enough to reach to the new location? I suppose I could splice wires to lengthen if need be, but I like to aviod that whenever possible.

not gona reach on it's own, but you could just splice in some wires. won't take too much work.

 

I haven't ripped apart my dash yet (need to replace some bulbs), but I would guess that, as you suspect, you'll need to extend the wires in order to reach that far. I'm basing this on the pictures at http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=77 (number 12 looks pretty tight). I really dont think you'll have the extra 12-24" needed even if there is some slack. Car companies aren't really known for including more than the bare minimum as far as length goes to save a bit on costs.

Yeah, I'll try to remember to do so. My driving lights won't be here until next week (really slow processing/shipping from Autobarn), so I won't be tearing into the dash until I have wires to feed. Depending on the clarity of instructions I may not be able to complete this on my own and may have my local auto shop finish what I start ; )
