The latest Hilux looks like a small Ridgeline. Toyota failed big time with that exterior design.

The diesel will probably be for the Tubdra. And if they imported the old style Hilux then I would be excited. The current Hilux is super small and thin for the Europe life style.

There's only one thing wrong with that statement. The Nissan Titan may be a Cummins engine, but it is a 5 liter V8 diesel, not the inline 6 that Dodge uses. The dealer manager doesn't know what he's talking about.

I-75 does go near Ann Arbor, Michigan which is home to the EPA's NVFEL (National Vehicle and Fuel Emmisons Laboratory).
    Possible test subjects maybe? :stirthepot:

Stirring the pot is right. Much more likely heading to Benning or Bragg...

Yes I have. I had a 4 door turbo diesel manual gear box hilux when I was deployed to the Philippines back in 2007. It was great. Interior was no worse than a 2nd gen taco.

I also had an automatic up-armored hilux turbo diesel that was great as well...just short on headroom with the interior armor plating while wearing your IBA/helmet. It had a plate bumper up front and upgraded suspension to make up for the weight of the interior armor and felt tuned as well.

    I'd rock a mid 2000's hilux anyday.

I'd love a hilux as long as it was a MT.

And that 5.0L diesel sucks. Drove a new Titan for 200 miles and hated that engine

What's so funny about all the Hilux love fest is the front of it looks more like a Ridgeline than a Tacoma. Yet people say the Ridgeline doesn't look like a real truck but the Hilux is one badass real truck?

With a 6' bed, badass. With a 5' bed, Ridgeline- make sense?

Makes no sense. Most Tacomas I've seen are DCSB with 5' bed.

The Hilux is about function over form while the Ridgline is about form over function hence why it's used in war zones.

This Hilux still keeps the previous 4.0 gas motor besides its diesel options, has a fully boxed frame, and rear discs. It's more truck than the Tacoma and Ridgeline will ever be.

It's like when the Highlander and Land Cruiser looked nearly the same for years but you knew which one was the real SUV.
