The instructions definitely say to notch the buckets, or at least recent instructions do. I installed the rear suspension with resis on my buddy's '16 and specifically remember this part. That was about two months ago. You can see where I notched it.

Well I'm running the same icon and so far I don't have any problem. Now that I see some people has issue the way it install, I want to prevent it. I'm trying to picture what your trying to say and looks like it will still hit the bucket. Also you put more tension to the hose and eventually fittings will lossen up and that cause a leak. :notsure:

Why does icon unlike other manufacturers require that you notch the coil bucket?. I know this doesnt help the OP, but for me this would be a reason not to buy in the first place.

The bucket isn't hitting the hose. They are just leaking. On both sides.

Looks like the instructions with the notch are 4-13-16 revision, if their upload folder is correct, looks like it was added to the website July 2016. I know my instructions did not mention notching out the bucket, but that was years ago.

I've never had a problem with my Icons. But their CS really is so terrible I go out of my way to not deal with them. When I needed a rebuild I paid extra and sent my shocks to DSM. Unfortunately DSM can't rebuild Omega bypasses so I have to send them to DSM, who then have to send them to Icon, which are then picked up by DSM, and sent back to me.

For reference: it would be cheaper for me to just send them directly to Icon since they're closer.

Good thing I just dropped my 15' off yesterday for the same kit.

Guess I'll be checking for notches.

    Thanks for the warning.

Or maybe the fittings aren't tight enough to seal it, that's why it's leaking?:notsure:

Make sure that there is enough slack in the hose that it doesn't pull on the fitting causing it to come loose...

I'd put money that's the problem.

I've had them installed from a guy who sells and installs these kits daily. I well with trucks that have the same icons installed by the same guy without issues

if you have the instructions still take a look at them....if they do clearly state to notch the bucket than you really dont have a leg to
stand on. if they dont however, than you have some ammunition.

This is the third problem like this that we have seen just from our group. The instructions say nothing about the notch. If this was a design flaw just discovered by ICON and revised in their online instructions when it should not be the customers fault. Covering this under warranty would cost ICON peanuts and they would have a happy customer. Seems like the right thing to do.

True dat. My issue was pre-bucket notch revision. Seems like they're aware of an issue, but would rather you modify the truck :notsure:

Don't know when OP got his lift, but the notch part isn't just in the online instructions. It was included with my buddy's parts that we installed a few months ago.
