Good to know about the resonator I was wondering how that was going to work out. OME spring rates are different and they have different lengths. Like the 887's are longer and will provide a 3" lft but not s stiff and not meant for use with a plate bumper and winch. I don't by any means know the specs but I wtched Justin switch out a set of OME coils one was rated for 540# I believe and the guy had installed a seel plate bumper and they sagged so he switched in 590# coils and the guy got his lift back where he wanted

The OME 883, 885, 887, and 888 are both rated 590# just different lengths. The 886 is rated 660# and only 2mm longer than the 887 according to Headstrong's website:

It's my understanding that DC's are suggested to go with the 885 and a 1/2" spacer OR 887 and no spacer to get 3" of lift. Most DC are automatic. Now, I've got an AC, so it weighs less. I've also got a 6MT, so that weighs less. However, I'm running the ARB (about 150#) and a Smitty winch w/ synthetic rope (about 50#). I know that's weight over the nose so it makes more difference than the weight of the cab, but still. And I do have sliders and skids on the way. So there's that.

I'm seriously thinking that the 885/spacer or 887 and my 5100's set at 0 would work. The jump on the 886 just scares me. That's a LOT of increase in spring rate. I'd be upset if I did that and ended up with almost the same ride as I've got now. Because Saturday got to be a little much for me and ol' Maggie by the end of the day. Like to the point I almost don't want to go back for a looooong time because I know how rough it is.

I know comfort and budget don't necessarily go hand in hand, but there's gotta be a way that's a little bit smoother than what I'm working with now.

Maybe worth it to check out the eibach 620# spring then perhps with a small spacer. I did find out after I posted that eibach does make heavier springs. I think the 620's are 112620's. Thanks for the info on the spring rates for the OME springs. Just a thought but it may be worth a call to Marie to see what she says considering your bumper set up and ll your adding.

*Edit... answered my own question... duh. Reading is important*

I haven't looked into them that much because pretty much everywhere you turn it's OME this and that. I can't say I'm not leaning that way because I know their products from way back in my Jeep days before they were involved with ARB and all, so I know they're quality. But I wouldn't be against another brand either, and I know Eibach has been in the spring game forever.

You know, what I'm really trying to do is keep myself from buying something crazy like a set of Kings. Cause I know me... and I'll end up doing it if I don't find a way to talk myself out of it.

Well if you even think you want a set of Kings you should talk to the dude in the nova thread. He bought coot's set we took off when justin did his long travel setup. He's only asking what he paid coot for them and they don't have many mileson them I think coot only had them on his truck a little while. Then your problem would be solved @TacoCat

Anyone else get to get out and enjoy the beautiful day we had yesterday. Had to put these wheels and tires through the mud one last time before they are retired.... little change coming soon ;)

OK this has nothing to do with any of the conversations, but I told @dapetik that I would post some pictures from our swamp trip last week. Of few of our friends and my wife and I went to the Roanoke River swamp outside of Jamesville NC. We rented two platforms that they have for camping in the swamp (look up Roanoke River Partners). Fun time away from it all.

    IMG_1018.jpg

    IMG_1076.jpg
We canoed in and set up our tents on one platform and used the second as our kitchen/social area.

Tons of Egrets were in the areaIMG_1131.jpg

Spanish moss hung from the Cypress

And there were turtles. I like turtles.

Great getaway for a few days.....

Nice, I just ordered a set of those to replace my ugly ass center caps too. I found 2 different part #'s online but could not see any difference in the product so I bought the cheaper ones. I hope they fit.

It should, guys tuck 33's under there. More importantly would be if it's the same size as all your others so you aren't in the same boat as a stock spare

Ok folks it's time to get rolling on another activity! April is almost here from the latter part of April through the end of May I'm probably going to be pretty much out of the picture as far as running around and being able to get things done. Let's have some suggestions for something you'd like to do. I'll help organize if you'd like or by all means feel free to take the reigns and make it happen. I only request it's before the 20th if possible. So let's be creative and come up with something cool. I can't wait to see what we come up with!
