i'll let you know the next time I'm down that way! out of curiosity, what don't you like about Boeing? reason I've been considering them is because I've had a number of friends and family members who have worked for them. some 25 years ago, some currently. 40-50 hour work weeks, par for the course (good) benefits, and good pay is what they all say. only bad thing I've hear about them is that promotions sway towards age vs skill.

Believe it or not just spray WD- 40 around the bottom of the fence. They hate it, all around the bottom and they hate it. It works up this way but spray it real heavy. Go on uses for WD- 40 and you will find it on there.

I've heard from people in the aviation business that it is very feast or famine. Automotive may not be that extreme, but it is very volatile. Companies tend to get top heavy when the going is good, and come the first little hump they start trimming fat. Engineers usually are some of the first to go. And some of the big three are the worst customers, except I can't really say that from my experience with Ford. Heck, I even got an award from them.

I can't think of any off the top of my head but I would look at HITT contracting. They do a lot of big projects for Boeing, Volvo, Bosch and some of the other manufacturers in the area. @colinb17

The have laid off a lot of peeps lately. They pay there suppliers really late. It's really a monotonous job working out there.
Plus the parking blows ass and you may need to park far away and get on the Boeing bus. So many other great companies
in the Charleston area. Boeing here treats locals like 2nd class citizens. All the great jobs are held by Boeing people who
transferred in from Washington State.

 

Found a very unique/cool item on CL last nite.

I actually was smart enough to factor in a few dollars for the shit they were gonna fck up and break. But jesus...$20 lug nuts?

 

No lie....i actually paid less for my chromoly axles than I just did for some lug nuts and 2 studs.
