    Haha I know. When we were on our way back to get the trailer for Jared I was thinking "I wonder what we'd have to do to get his truck home if one of us didn't have a trailer"... We concluded the only way was on a trailer.

    Not with a broken rear diff

    I hated driving it 5 miles. Catches every single rut in the road.

    I just drove mine 8 hours (500 miles) and it wasn't bad at all, granted smaller tars. What plans do you have for a new shaft?

    Was my thinking until it happened. Depends on the break tho, handful of missing teeth makes for an eventful drive. Ideally you would want to break every tooth but that's usually not the case and trying to break every single one your opting for a chance to fuck some other shit up.

    What I was figuring and if it ultimately came down to it I would remove the ring gear and put everything back together without the ring. Fill it back up and drive it home. One of my concerns with driving it back was the rear end locking up while driving on the highway with all those missing pieces floating around and getting caught up.

    Pull the Ring gear and scoop out the teeth. That's what @JimboAnz did last year at AOP, another 6 hour "front wheel drive" home.

    the first time i blew my third that what happened. I lost about 90% of the teeth on the ring and 100% on the pinion but the metal locked it up fully for about 6 miles but at least i was in the snow.

    I always pull the driveline to save the transfer case from the torque that binding will put on it. This is just the shitty part about not having full floaters.

    our axles are pretty damn tough, I exploded one of my bearings in the rear third recently and metal everywhere and not even a scratch on the axles or splines.

    I haven't found anyone that was really good either for a good price.. dynamic diesel in snohomish by the airport has done the best (which is okay quality) but a little pricey, $112 after tax.
