It basically shows the shot and goal differential for each team. For example, if a team in the rows to the left has a matchup with a team that is on the top columns of the chart then green means the shot/goal differential was in their favor and red means it was against them. Kind of neat to see how all the teams in the East matched up in the regular season should we see them in the playoffs this year.

My guess is regardless of what that chart says, the Caps would probably rather play the Sens than the Jackets or Pens though. Same with Sens would still rather play Canadians instead of Caps.

Cool chart I guess, but I've never put too much in to that stuff. But it has it's place and can be interesting.
